three second nightmare

i fall into my bed, and my body sinks like iron.
instantly i close my eyes and ask for sleep,
but it does not come to me right away.
it mocks me from the edge of my bed.
instead i toss and turn for a bit, trying to find which side is more comfortable,
and which side lets me breath easily.
then i fall deeper, past the bed, past the floor, into the ground.
i am iron. i am heavy.
and i wake up in the shallow ocean.
the water is aqua-green and murky, and i am not breathing.
but life flows in and out of me, i can feel my heartbeat shaking the waters.
everything in my vicinity holds me captive me as it trembles.
all around me flows black seaweed, teasing me with dances i can not preform.
i try to lift my rib cage up, to get my lungs some air, but the water is too dense.
my arms are covered by the sea floor and the seaweed mocks me.
i cannot breath, i am sure i am dying.
and it all lasts for three mere seconds.
and then i sit up in my bed.
i take in a breath like it was the first breath since i was born.
and i feel my chest, feel my rib cage and my lungs.
i feel my heart beating against my bones like it wants to be released into clean air.
i am not drowning any longer,
i fall back into place,
and i sleep right away.
