So how I will do this is I will copy and paste one chapter a day, more if if I have more time or less if it is a really long chapter. I will put some of my thoughts as I read and feel free to comment your own thoughts. I use the King James Version, that is my personal choice, and I won't get mad at you if you prefer another version. After the reading I will put a prayer. I will start with the book of James because that is the book the youth group at my church just finished studying, unfortunately I missed all the last bible studies, so that is why I am studying it for myself. I will try to update every day between 9:00 and 11:00pm Eastern Standard Time(same time zone as Toronto). If I do not update you may spam this book and my pm with comments telling me to get my act together. Let's get started:

James 1:1-27 KJV
[1] James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
[2] My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
[3] Knowing this , that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
[4] But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
Those are now some of my favourite verses, I have been through a few things and I know if I had a super easy childhood, I would not be as patient as I am now, and would not have the faith I do.
[5] If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
So often we forget that all we have to do is ask God in faith and He will give to us liberally.
[6] But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. [7] For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
[8] A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
[9] Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
[10] But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away. [11] For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
Reminds me of the book of Ecclesiastes, we will all die and the rich will be forgotten, but if we are Christians we will reign with Christ forever.
[12] Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. [13] Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
It is Satan that tempts us.
[14] But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
[15] Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Good to be reminded how we have to not fall into temptations, thankfully God always provides a way of escape.
[16] Do not err, my beloved brethren.
[17] Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
We should remember to thank God for every good gift and for trials and temptations that give us patience, so basically everything. Thank you Lord!
[18] Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
[19] Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
This reminds me of the verse 'be angry but sin not' it doesn't say don't get mad, it says be slow to wrath. God gets angry and we do to because we are made in his image. We just have to not to sin when angry. I have a bad habit of wishing the person I am angry with dies or gets severely injured, and that is definitely a sin and I have to stop doing that.
[20] For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
We do not praise God when we are unrighteously angry.
[21] Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. [22] But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
Very good to remember.
[23] For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
[24] For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
[25] But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein , he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
[26] If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. [27] Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
We are to help the needy and keep ourselves separate from the world.

Lord thank you for everything you have given me, the good and what seems not so good, please help me with my sinful anger, and other sins. Please help us be not only hearers of the word, but doers also, and please greatly bless anyone reading this. Please keep my mom safe as she drives two hours to to pick me up from my aunt's house tomorrow, and the two hours to bring me back home. Please help my brothers and cousin with the problems you know they have and please be with the kid at my cousin's school who wants to commit suicide, help my cousin be a blessing and a witness to him. Thank you again for all you have done for us, in Jesus's name, amen.
