Oct 1, Ps 45

30 4 2

Time, time, time. I don't think anyone has enough of it. Apparently it is impossible to do 35 hours worth of stuff in a 24 hour day. That's to bad. 😭😭. Ok I really have to stop complaining. I struggle with complaining to much, and I'm trying to stop, so can do me a favour? If I randomly start complaining, could you please remind me that it is not Christlike to complain? Thank you 😊

So due to my failure at organizing my time, I can only do a psalm today.

Psalm 45:1-17 KJV
[1] My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
Indite means to write or compose.

[2] Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.

[3] Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.

[4] And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.

[5] Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.

[6] Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.
This is interesting, we were just talking in Catechism about God's kingdom. There is a common misconception that God kingdom will not come until the end times, but this verse, and others, show that God's kingdom is from everlasting to everlasting. His kingdom is in heaven, in the Church and in us, and will last for ever and ever.

[7] Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
Ok, I'm actually confused. Who is this psalm talking about? The previous verse makes it sound like it is talking about God, but this verse and verse two make it sound like it is talking about a person blessed by God. Is it perhaps talking about Christ?

[8] All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.
Cassia is a tree or shrub native to warmer climates.

[9] Kings' daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir.

[10] Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house;

[11] So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.

[12] And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour.

[13] The king's daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.

[14] She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee.

[15] With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king's palace.

[16] Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth.

[17] I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.

I've told you a bit about Mr. W, he was an elderly man in my church who had a bunch of health problems. All those problems are gone now, and he is praising our Lord in heaven and will do so for eternity! It's definitely hard for his wife, they were married 54 years. That must terrible having someone you've lived with and loved for over half a century die. But she, and we, are not as those with no hope. We know Mr. W was Christian so it is not goodbye, it is see you later! We must pray for Mrs. W and their children as they go though this difficult time.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for all You have done for us, thank you for all You have given us. You give and take away, You gave us Mr. W for over 70 years, and now You have taken him to Yourself. Thank you for him, thank you for all the lives You have blessed through him. I think especially of my brother who thought of Mr. W as a grandfather. Father please comfort him and everyone else who was close to Mr. W. Please be with everyone in my prayer journal, please bless and keep them close to You. Let Your will always be done, and let Your Kingdom come, in Jesus's name, Amen
