Kim

"So when can you start?" Betty, the salon owner, asked

"As soon as possible. Tomorrow if you need me."

"Good." She nodded. "I actually do need you tomorrow. Shea isn't going to be here. I'll see you at 9 AM tomorrow." She smiled

"Ok." I smiled and walked out of her small office.

"Did you get it?" Shea nearly ran over to me

I nodded and smiled

"I knew you would! Come on, I have to introduce you to everybody!" She eagerly grabbed my hand, dragged me across the salon.

"Everybody can I have your attention!" Shea yelled.

"Girl. Why are you so loud?" One girl asked

"Whatever. Anyway. Everybody, this is Kim. She'll be working here." Shea spoke. "That's Ariana, Brittany and Maci." Shea pointed

"Hey." I shyly waved

"Welcome to the team." Ariana came over to me. "When do you start?"

"Tomorrow at 9."

"Oh. I'll be here. I'll be able to help you if you need anything." She smiled

"Ok. Thanks."

"You not from around here huh?" Brittany asked

"No." I shook my head. "I'm from Atlanta."

"Born there?"

"No. I was born in Sweden."

"Another foreign hoe." She threw her hands up and laughed. "Maci is from Australia." She pointed. "Nice to meet you though." She smiled

"You too."

"Ari, let me use your phone." I watched as Brittany walked across the salon

"For what?" Ariana asked as she curled a piece of hair

"Because my nigga not answering my calls. I think his ass blocked me."

Ariana and Maci laughed. "Cause his ass doesn't want you." Maci spoke

"Shut up." Brittany rolled her eyes. "Come on, it'll be quick." She whined

Ariana pulled her phone out of her pocket and handed it to her. Brittany walked into the back and closed the door behind her.

"Why she so pressed over him?" Maci turned around in her chair. "She know what type of guy he is. He does not want to be tied down."

Shea shrugged. "That's on her. Her ass always talking about him and shit but won't show nobody what he look like or say his name. Like bitch, we don't want him. We see how he treat yo ass." Shea laughed.

"Facts!" Ariana agreed

I turned to Shea and leaned against her station. "I'm about to go. I have to take this long ass train ride." I sighed

"Ok. Text me when you get in."

"Ok. I will." "Bye everyone." I waved and walked out.

I looked up and down the street before I crossed to the other side.

My phone began to ring. I looked down at it and it was Dave.

"Hello?"

"What you doing in this area?"
