Chapter 23: Unplanned moments

Inspector Ravi and Sunil had best time at Blue Dove lounge bar.

Ravi's duty hours were over and they ordered some champagne. Asha was admiring Sunil from a corner seat. She just wanted to eat him up. She was scared looking at Ravi in police uniform. She sent a lady towards them who introduced herself as Journalist Ann Marie. She threatened Ravi that she will expose his photograph that he was drinking in duty hours in Police uniform. Ravi got up and with a stunt opened his shirt and unbuckled his belt. He was wearing a white -T-shirt inside. He gave a flirting smile to the Journo and commented :

"Do you want to expose anything else. Do you want to see what I can do?"

Journalist walked away like a cat and Sunil admired his friend's wit. Ravi prepared Sunil for police questions, he will be making at his office, next day. Sunil was giggling in between because Ravi was his friend and he called him a joker in school days. Ravi was irritated and he said :

"Do not irritate me, I will put you in jail."

Sunil made an angry face and sat quietly, sipping his drink. He paid the bill and walked of angrily. Ravi decided to play a prank, next day. Sunil was expecting Ravi to flatter him. Ravi did it in their school days. He was lazy and slept in the classroom. Sunil was studious as a student. They shared the same bench and Sunil completed Ravi's notes, journal and notebook. Sunil loved when people flattered him and Ravi had mastered that art. Ravi was lost in their childhood memories. One day Ravi had not got the drawing book to the class. He was thrown out and immediately Sunil said even he had not got his drawing book. They enjoyed standing out together. When they were in class 9, Ravi's father got a transfer and both were upset. Sunil could not cope up with his best friend leaving him. He was ill and his mother explained him:

"At times things are not in our hands.We want everything right from friends and love. Some relationships are temporary so is friendship. New friends will come and old will go away. Remember them in your prayers but don't get deeply attached to what is not in your control. "

She told him her plight of living without her husband. But she survived with strength, just because she had a son to live for...

There was no connect between Ravi and him. All of a sudden 15 years back, Ravi had come in search of him to invite for his wedding. Sunil was excited but couldn't go as he got Chicken pox. Pinky was at her home in Mumbai for her delivery. Payu came out only when he was well and he always teased Pinky that his daughter, always thinks of her Papa first and loves him a little more like a pinch of salt in a soup. Ravi was angry that Sunil did not come to attend his Big Day. They fought and they had a meeting today. Sunil was sitting on his king chair. He was in deep thoughts as Payu and Pinky ignored him. They were upset that he didn't tell them that nothing was serious and Ravi is his friend. He got drunk and enjoyed with his friend. Pinky expected him to talk to her and cuddle with her, console her that she is 39 and not old. They can still have a Baby. She slept and locked the door. Sunil was thinking of Shankar ji and a fear gripped him. It was his 6th sense that Shankar ji will trap him. What if that happened?

Payu was super angry that she cooked good meal for him but he was not there for to eat. She threw the Chole, made Dal Rice. Later she felt bad and she made his favorite Paneer and Roti's. She decided to revenge by not talking to him for next few days. But she knew it was a hard task. She just loved him and can't be angry 😡 for so long.

She was playing games on her mobile and playing Antakshari with Rajat on Whatsaap chat. Suddenly her mood changed with the chums and she started crying with the abdominal pain. She wanted to have a cup of coffee now. She messaged Rajat but he messaged her back :

"Don't act like a kid. Please sleep."

Payu was sensitive and with her periods, she was crying. Sunil was passing by her room and he heard her crying. He knocked at her door and seeked her permission to get inside. She was lying on her Tummy and crying...

"It is hurting me. Nobody loves me and cares for me. I should have born."

"What happened my grumpy baby?"

Sunil asked in a baby voice. She got up and hugged him tightly.

"I love you, Papa. Promise me you wouldn't love the new brat that will enter our world. If you do that I will leave your house. " Payu sounded emotional but Papa found it funny. He kissed her cheeks and said :

" I will get everything in two and I promise, I will never make you feel less loved. You are my first one and very precious to me. Train your mind to accept the new member though there is still time. The baby is just growing inside Mummy and you should take care of her. Don't bother her much. With work, traveling and some office tensions, Papa won't be always there but Payu should be there for her Mummy."

"I will take care of your Pinky but she is cranky at times. Papa, how do you jelofied her (Tolerate). She is at times very ridiculous. "

Payu was bitching about Pinky and Sunil winked.

"She is my wife, baby... My soul and heart ♥, now stop bad mouthing her and never forget you are like her. "

Payu pushed him out and slammed the door. Sunil went to the guest room to sleep. The stars twinkled in the sky and he closed his eyes to see the new day. Hopefully a beautiful day ahead.
