"So, what did we learn?"
A series of chitters followed Mangetsu's question, with Hawky adding occasional squawking input.
"See? No one is replacing anyone," Mangetsu said calmly. "Appa didn't get upset when you came along, did he, Momo?"
More chittering and Momo reached out and gently patted Hawky's head.
"Good," he said, standing. "Both of you are going to behave, and Appa will let me know if there's been any trouble. Right, Appa?"
An affirmative growl came from the behemoth.
"Atta boy, I'm gonna find what's keeping the others," Mangetsu picked up his sword and looked back at the camp to see that Momo and Hawky had curled up together on Appa's foreleg and were already dozing.
"Good enough," he murmured before heading off towards town.
