It had been two more days and Y/N hadn't woken up, and I still couldn't figure out what she was injected with. I had theories, but nothing definitive. I used every book I had, but none of it matched. "Jack, just fucking wake her up!" Jeff screamed at me. He hadn't slept or eaten at all during the last couple days. "I'm trying, man," I reassured him. I stood over her and looked at her. "She's not quite in a coma, but she's not just knocked out either. It's strange," I said, mostly to myself.
---Your POV O_o---
I was trapped in some sort of dream-like limbo. I was reliving memories and all of it felt just as real as when it happened. I was also living out scenarios that had never happened to me. It was strange, but I was unaware that it wasn't real. I couldn't sense anything from the outside world and my dreams became my world.
---E.J.'s POV----
"Okay, I have an idea. I'll be right back," I said, heading up to my room. I searched around for awhile, having no idea where the thing was. I finally found it and went back to the basement. "Okay, this might help," I said, sitting back down. "What is it?" Jeff asked. "A centrifuge. It'll basically separate her blood and all of the substance's parts so I can see if I recognize anything," I told him. He shrugged, not really caring about the science of it. "I need more of her blood, though," I told him. He looked a little angry, but allowed me to take more. I put it into the centrifuge and let it work its magic. I took each thing separately and examined it under the microscope. "Oh my god, finally," I said, recognizing something. "What?" he asked. "There's two parts of whatever that stuff was. I don't know what one is, but the other is ketamine," I told him. "I'm not a science nerd, what is that?" he asked, teasing me. "It's a sedative. Usually a date rape drug. It looks like they modified it with something else to make it stronger," I explained. "Okay, so can you undo it or whatever?" he asked. "I can figure it out, just give me a bit," I said. I messed around with different stuff for about an hour longer, before I figured out what could stop the sedative. "Okay. I think I know how to wake her up," I said as I mixed some stuff together. "Is that going to hurt her? Like is it safe?" he asked. "Do you think I would do anything that would hurt her?" I asked, turning around and looking at him. He sighed and looked away. Once I was done, I put the stuff into a syringe. "Okay, I have to inject her with this. It'll probably take about an hour to work," I told him. "An hour?" he asked. "It takes awhile to undo a sedative throughout her whole body," I told him. I gently put a needle in her arm and pushed the stuff in. "Okay, all done," I said, glancing up at her heart monitor to make sure nothing happened immediately. It stayed steady, so I covered the wound.
"Thanks for doing all this, or whatever," Jeff said to me. I patted his back and started to clean up everything. After that, we sat around chatting for a bit, then eventually called the rest of the pastas down in case she woke up.
--Your POV--
The dream I was in slowly faded away. I could hear voices, but all I saw was black. I heard an annoying beeping sound. I figured I should try to open my eyes, and I did slowly. I blinked a bit until everything became clear and I saw everyone staring at me and Jeff holding my hand. "Why are you all here? What's happening" I asked, confused. I looked around and saw a needle in my arm and a clip on my finger. "You're okay. Do you remember anything?" Jack asked. I ignored him and tried to pull the needle out. "Hey, don't do that. I'll take it out, okay?" he offered. I nodded and looked up at the ceiling. "What's the last thing you remember?" I heard Masky ask from a distance. "I remember.. running with you guys and you started to pass out. Then these people grabbed me and that's all I remember," I said. "Good. They injected you with something and it knocked you out pretty badly. We've been trying to wake you up for awhile," Jack calmly explained as he took the needle out of my arm and put a bandaid over it. I noticed two other pieces of gauze on my arm. "What are these? What'd you do?" I asked, panicked. "I just had to take some of your blood to see what was in you," Jack explained, putting his hand on my arm. "What was it?" I asked. "They modified a sedative. I made something to undo it. If I hadn't, you probably would've been out for several more days," he told me. "Days?? How long has it been?" I asked, sitting up. I felt lightheaded and put my hand on my head. "It's been two days," Jeff told me. "Shit," I mumbled. "Take it easy," Jack said. I looked ahead at everyone that wasn't Jack or Jeff and smiled. I was surprised to see L.J. there. "Laughing Jack, why are you here?" I asked. "Because you're kind of important or whatever. Don't feel special," he said with a small smile. I smiled and blinked slowly, feeling dizzy. "Why don't we give her space?" Jack suggested. Everyone except Jack and Jeff said something to me, then went upstairs.
"Am I going to be okay?" I asked Jack. "Yeah. There might be a couple minor side effects from what I gave you, but it beats staying asleep," he replied. "You said it wouldn't hurt her!" Jeff yelled. "It won't, relax. The only side effects are confusion and possible hallucinations, but it'll 100% wear off in a couple days at most," he explained. I relaxed, glad I wasn't dying. "I'll give you guys some time," Jack said, going upstairs. I looked at Jeff and his hand that was holding mine. He sat up on the "bed" and looked at me. "Were you worried about me?" I asked. "Yeah. You looked dead, no offense," he replied. "None taken," I smiled. I leaned forward and kissed him. He put his hands on my head and kissed me deeply. I could tell how much he missed me just from his body language. I started to feel lightheaded from the lack of oxygen and I pulled away, looking at him. "Yeah, we probably shouldn't do that for a bit," he said, noticing how pale my face was. I nodded and he got up, helping me off the table. I felt wobbly, but he put his arm around me and helped me walk. "Can I like shower and stuff?" I asked as we went upstairs. "Can you do it by yourself right now?" he asked. I rolled my eyes and he chuckled. "I'm serious for once," he said. "Yeah, I'll be fine," I said. He nodded and let me go cautiously. I took all the gauze and bandaids off of me, then got in the shower. I moved slowly, and had to sit down a couple times, but I tried to get out as quickly as possible. "Hello," someone said behind me. I turned around nervously and saw a glowing green elephant. I widened my eyes and blinked, trying to make it disappear. "I'm Eli," it said. I shook my head and it disappeared. I sighed and realized that's what Jack meant by hallucinations. I got out of the shower, and went into my room to put on different clothes. I grabbed a different pair of leggings and put on a crop top, then went downstairs to get food.
Jack was standing in the kitchen and I smiled at him. "How did that go?" he asked, sipping some tea. "Um. I hallucinated an elephant talking to me, so I don't know," I told him. He chuckled and nodded. "Yeah, I'm sorry," he apologized. "Don't worry about it," I said. I made myself some food and Jack wandered away. Jeff came in at one point and I motioned for him to come near me. "You look tired, babe," I said. "Ooh I'm babe now?" he asked, wiggling his eyebrows. I blushed and looked down. He forced me to look at him. "I am. I haven't slept at all," he told me. "Why not?" I asked, concerned. "I didn't want to leave you," he said, looking away. "That's so adorable," I said, grinning like an idiot. I kissed his cheek and continued eating my food. "Go sleep, you need it," I told him. "What about you?" he asked. "I'm not tired. I kinda caught up on all my sleep," I said with a wink. "Right," he smiled. I waved as he went up to his room to sleep. I finished my food and stretched a little, glad to be awake. I was hearing some strange voices, but realized they weren't real. I walked into the dining room, then stopped. I had no idea how I got there and I shook my head. Whatever Jack used on me was really getting to me. I decided to go visit him and I checked the library, then went up to his room.
---E.J.'s POV aGaIn---
I was laying on my bed, trying to relax after the last couple stressful days. My door opened and I saw Y/N. She looked kind of confused, but she walked in and shut the door. "Hey, what's up?" I asked, standing up and walking over to her. "Just wanted to see my boyfriend! Duh," she said. I furrowed my eyebrows, very confused. I figured she was probably hallucinating or very dazed. "Y/N, I think you're hallucinating," I told her. "Shhh, Jeff, don't be a downer," she said as she walked up to me, touching my sides. I tensed up, but was positive she wasn't seeing clearly. "I'm not Jeff, Y/N," I told her. "You're so funny," she giggled as she looked up at me. I stared at her, unsure of what to do. Without warning, she leaned up and kissed me, putting her hands on my neck. I had no clue what to do. Suddenly, I put my arms around her waist and pulled her against me roughly. I don't know what came over me, but I pushed her against the wall, kissing my best friend's girlfriend.
