CHAPTER XLIV: Number 44

2 years later

"Lee EunByeol" Somebody called out

I snapped my head towards the door of my studio seeing Bang ShiHyuk standing

I quickly stood up and bowed down

"Come with us to the audition. I think since you'll be making songs for the new group that we will make, it's good if you help pick the members with us"

"I would love to" I bowed down at him again and started to gather the things I needed. I got my notebook where I was still writing a new song for the group that will be produced.

It's been already 2 years since I last saw him..

I never heard about him except JungKook saying that the surgery went well

I wanted to come and visit him but, I'm living in Seoul now

I've been working at BigHit since then..

I've always wonder how he is right now
Is he finally being like a normal person
Or is he enjoying his life now...

Is he happy now..?

"This will take long" Mr. Bang sighed and we all agreed

It's nice to have many people auditioning but, at the same time it's tiring...

In all the auditionees, I never heard the perfect voice that I was looking for. No one captured my attention by their singing but, only by their dancing

I was starting to get bored so, I just continued to write the song I was working on earlier

"Let number 44 come in" Mr. Bang ordered and the door opened after a few seconds

I didn't even bothered to look up since I was prerry engrossed at what I was doing at the moment but, my ears were open

"You may start to sing whenever you're ready"

I heard some shuffling and a deep breath

It seems like the person was nervous

"Don't smile on me... Light on me...."

I felt like the world stopped for a moment...

This voice.... It probably isn't....

I looked at the person seeing him...

My eyes immediately shed tears just by the sight of the face I always wanted to see....

His face...
His voice...
His presence...

It's just before me... It's within my reach now...

I wanted to run and hug him tight...

He was singjng the sing I made because of him...
It was my first song...

I always wondered how his voice sounds like kf he sang it...
And hearing it now, it exceeded my expectation...

"But, I still want you......"

He looked directly at my eyes..
He smiled while his eyes were also teary..

His eyes tells me that he missed me too..

And I replied through mine..

"I missed you too so much, Jimin..."

As the break was called by Mr. Bang, I quickly ran outside where the auditionees were staying

I scanned through the crowd looking for him..

Maybe he left? Maybe he went to the bathroom?

I was starting to overthink about why I can't see him...

Then

"EunByeol-ah...." I felt arms engulfing my waist

The scent that I always look for..
The warmth that I was longing for..

And the person that I missed...

"Jimin-ah.... I missed you"
