Jung Jaehyun was the vocalist of the most popular band in Y/n's school. Every girl swoons over them but Y/n being Y/n, never did she come close to them despite her feelings for the vocalist.
She wanted to keep her cool and she knew he hates her.
Y/n would always walk away when Jaehyun and his bandmates were walking towards her, she thought he wouldn't notice but Jaehyun always had his eyes on her. He would wonder and his heart would ache every time. He always sees her back as she always walks away from him.
They used to be a couple but without conversation, they stopped talking to each other. No proper closure had happened. Everything ended quickly without explanation, they just became ignorant about each other.
Is their relationship already over? She wasn't sure.
The first months of ignoring Jaehyun was doing great but sooner, she started to feel anxious and disheartened every time she remembers their memories. She wanted to hug him and tell him how much she likes him but she was afraid of his rejection.
The thought of him still liking her is only possible in her dream, at least that's what she was believing.
"He definitely found someone prettier and nicer than me." Y/n mumbled as she stared at herself on the mirror inside her room. She was wearing simple clothes with her hair being messy like usual. She sees herself ugly and her insecurities worsen every time she sees pretty girls swooning over the guy she likes.
"I'm a living potato." She said, standing up and letting herself fall on her bed. "Can't fairy godmother suddenly show up and turn me into a pretty princess?"
Y/n rolled her body and stared at the ceiling. She stared for minutes and out of a sudden, a tear fell from her eye. Flustered, she was quick to wipe the tear but as she was wiping, tears started to fall continuously.
Her heart was aching but she can't do anything but to cry.
"When did you become so weak?" She sobbed, pertaining to herself. "Don't cry over Jaehyun. It was over. Your relationship before is enough."
No, it isn't. It'll never be enough.
Y/n had cried overnight and by the time she woke up for school, her eyes were swollen. She was panicking, thinking of ways to hide her swollen eyes.
In the end, she wore a face mask and if anyone asks, she'll tell them that she's sick.
Her alibi turned out to be true though. She felt ill by the time she reached her school and was forced to go to the clinic by her friend.
"Just lay down." Her friend insisted. "I can't let you stay in class while you have a high fever. What will I do if you suddenly die in front of me?"
Chuckling, Y/n threw a pillow on her friend. "Stop exaggerating. It's just a fever."
"It's just a fever." Her friend copied with a teasing tone. "Don't be hardheaded. Get some rest, I'll bring Jaehyun here."
"Whaㅡ No!" She exclaimed.
"Y/n it's been years since you two talked properly. You have to settle things between the two of you." Y/f/n reasoned out. "I know he's the reason of your swollen eyes. Don't lie, I can see through you."
No words left Y/n. She was surprised by her friend's words. She stayed quiet, finally giving in as she laid down.
Her friend left her staring at the ceiling. She couldn't get herself to sleep even though her body feels ill. She was lost in thoughts and was brought back to reality when Jaehyun came.
"Hey." Jaehyun greeted and she felt herself wanting to cry but she held it in. "I brought your favorite snack." On his hands were her favorite bread and chocolate drink.
He remembered.
"Thanks." She said as she took the snack from his hand but she was pulled into a hug once her hand touches his.
"Y/n, I missed you."
