Cal's POV
"Cal, did you touch her or let her touch you?" She yells in my face.
"No! I didn't it! You told me a long time ago never to touch a witch's hand remember?" I yell back, pissed.
"Good. She is bad news. Very bad news. How did you meet her anyway?"
"She visited the manor with Julian. I think they're dating."
"Now it's a vampire? Her quest for power never ceases to amaze me. She's a witch whose thirst for power is boundless. Excuse me, I hear she's still trying to be a sorcerer. She desires to be a High Priestess. Unfortunately for dear Sierra, a High Priestess or High Priest is chosen directly by the Sun god and ordained by the Elementals. Not a position she can kill to obtain. But that has not stopped Sierra from trying any and every way possible to be a High Priestess."
"You told me once that witches can upgrade so to speak through practice or by stealing another's powers, right?"
"Yes. With us, the Elementals are our ruling body. Then you have the High Priestess/High priest as coven leaders. Below them are Sorcerers. Witches, Wizards, and Warlocks next. Then Mystics and the lowest are the Magicians. Sierra was born a Mystic. Unlike the right way to move up which is by practice, Sierra tends to steal other witch's powers. She tried that with me when we were younger, and she learned a lesson the hard way."
"Was she the one that..."
"Yes, she was," she interrupts me.
"Oh." I had promised Esme I will never bring up that night, ever! It has been five years now and I have kept that promise. So, I keep quiet realizing the enormity of who Sierra Jones really is. I worry for Julian.
"Anyway, I'm off. I'm at BloodRose tonight and we'll meet Rafe at the wedding. You are coming right?"
"Yes, they tricked me into coming. And I know you taught them how."
"Me? I would never," I smirk. "See you." I hug her goodbye and walk out to retrieve my man.
I walk back to her store, grab Darric and we head off to BloodRose. Coming to BloodRose is getting easier. The members are nicer. And my mate is making some amazing changes in and around the pack. Katie is right. The school building stands completed. And the hospital. This pack is thriving, and I love it.
"Good afternoon, Luna," greet the pack members I run into. I didn't reply, and I look around fearfully for Luna Rowena.
"They mean you, Cal." Darric nudges me.
Oh crap, I am the pack Luna. Oops! I greet them back. We continue on to his office where his Betas, Deltas, and Gammas are waiting.
"Welcome, Luna Cal." They all greet me. I greet them back and settle in the chair beside Darric's. I notice that my sister Minerva, is not with them, wonder why? Gamma Katreena winks at me, and I wink back smiling.
"Please make yourselves comfortable. I want to thank you all for holding down the fort while I have been absent these last few weeks," Darric starts off. "Katie Johnson has agreed to join our teaching staff after she graduates this semester. We've had a few medical personalities interested in the hospital. Your Luna, Betas, and I will interview them to make sure they are a good fit for the pack."
"I think things are progressing well and as I've said; my door is open to all suggestions. I may not use them, but I will listen. There's one more thing, but I can't remember what?"
"Yorke manor," I whisper.
"Of course. My mates and I have bought some land not too far from here as our home. I will still be using this office, and my suite upstairs for days that my mates and I need to stay over."
