Darric's POV

I am seriously losing it but with the call from Roman, my wolf has calmed down. Now to get my mate. Who knew my mate had such good friends? Everyone dropped what they are doing to help search for him. My sister is a mess. Katreena blames herself for the poisoned drink. I know she didn't poison my mate, but I don't have the time to console her. Minerva is also by my side, ready to kill to find her brother. The tide has sure turned.

Salim arrives with the Omegas, his sister and about two dozen werecats warriors in tow. The scent of everyone's agitation is filling the room that I need a break. I walk out and make my way to our suite. I need to smell him, anything of his will calm my wolf. I grab one of his shirts and inhale his scent deep into my soul. I flop down in the chair and let the tears roll. What kind of mate am I that I let him be kidnapped?

"We will find him, I swear it on my soul, Darric" Rafe walks over to me, hugging me from behind.

"I know. Do you really trust that man?"

"With my life. He has never let me down. And Esme should be there now. Time to go."

"I'm ready." I tear Cal's shirt down the middle, tuck one inside my shirt and I give the other half to Rafe.

"That's his favorite shirt, you know. He's going to skin you alive when he gets back," Rafe smiles.

"I look forward to it."

I kiss him and we head on out. Time to bring our mate home.

Cal's POV

"A new power?" Esme asks, looking impressed.

"Looks like it. You know after this whole thing; I am learning not to deny anything the Sun god or Ancient One gives me."

"Smart thinking. So, that consequence thing is not working for both of them, is it?"

"Not yet. I don't think they will ever agree on anything."

"Are you okay? I can imagine what you went through here."

"Feeling better. How are my mates?"

"Your mates were going bonkers and they'll be arriving soon."

"My turn, are you okay? Taking a witch's powers and binding them is not a walk in the park."

No matter how much Sierra deserves it, I know Esme hurt. They were friends a long time ago.

"What's done is done. I must report my action to her coven by witch's law. First things first though, we need to get out of here."

"Aaah!!!" My head is suddenly bombarded with two very persistent loud voices. My mates' loud voices.

"What's wrong? Cal?"

"My mates! Their voices suddenly blasted my brain, like brain freeze"

"I guess the Calvary has arrived," she says sitting down beside me. She waves her hand and Sierra's body is violently moved to the other side of the cell.

I link my mates assuring them I am all right and Esme is with me. I inform them of where I think we are. I can't wait to hold and kiss them.

"Cal, you renounced your goddess. No one has ever done that before," Esme whispers.

"I did. What has she done for me? Nothing. Who wants a god who relegates you to the back burner? So, I invoked your god, though he said there will be consequences."

"Did we really see them and hear them?"

"Yes! That was surreal. I heard and saw everything, but I couldn't move or speak. And Sköll has not answered me. Esme, I may have lost my wolf," I cry.
