Dr. Brecker finishes talking to Ember.
DR. BRECKER
'...After I lost them, I directed my grief into research for supers. That way I could help other people like you.'
EMBER
(quietly)
'I'm very sorry for your loss. M-maybe I could stay and help you finish your research, for your d-daughter's sake.'
DR. BRECKER
'That would be...'
He claps his hands.
DR. BRECKER (CONT'D)
'excellent! That way you can meet the other Patients here.'
EMBER
'When will you start, then?'
DR. BRECKER
'Let me call my staff and tell them to prepare for an incoming patient.'
Dr. Brecker pulls his phone out of his pocket and dials the medical team.
