Dan was putting his shoes on when I arrived downstairs. He looked so cute and innocent with small strands of his hair betraying his fringe and leading themselves into his face. The way he stuck his tounge out of the side of his mouth while he concentrated on the task at hand. He looked up and acknowledged my presence with a sarcastic wink making my heart skip a beat even though I knew he was joking. I gave him a small, appretiative smile - just to let him know I was glad to have him.

It's weird falling in love with your best friend, although inevitable. You spend every day of your life with them: you Skype them, you text them, you call them, you hang out with them, you live with them. You get to know their quirks, their weird habits, their likes and dislikes and how they tick. Then you start to remember things like their takeaway order, their favorite cereal, things just friends don't notice.

What's even worse is Dan was my first EVER real best friend and I had to go and ruin it with my feelings. Oh god.
