I was nervous for this. It was my first official radio interview to promote the new album and with the very unexpected succes of Bruises, I was full with energy and excitement but also so damn nervous. What if they just like the singels and dislike the album? What if they don't like what else I got to say?
Ashton was out with a few of his New York friends so it was just me. I did have to push him enough to make sure he knew I would be okay on my own and I am positive that right now the radio is already playing and he will make everyone shut up once it starts.
"Samantha?" A guy said a little scared as he walked up to me. I turned towards his voice and got up to greet him. "Hi! I am Nick, they send me down here to come get you for the interview." He gave me a broad smile while we shook hands and he looked so excited.
"Great to meet you Nick" I said back and he nodded happily before gesturing me to follow him. I had only been waiting for a couple minutes and I didn't really mind. It gave me time to think this all through and go through the standard questions once again.
"Okay so I'll talk you through it all before sending you in so you're not fully unprepared. This is your first, isn't it?"
"Yeah it is." I replied with a chuckle and he nodded again while he made eye contact for a few seconds too long. He quickly looked away and started explaining me all the basics and what I had to pay attention to, like the strict no swearing rule. And by the time we reached the studio, he was done explaining everything. He waited until the on air button stopped shining before letting me in and the radio presentator quickly got up and came over to us.
