Walburga Black: Seventh-year Slytherin. A dark-eyed, handsome seventh-year with a most impressive scowl and the powerful pair of lungs that the Blacks are known for. If Lucretia was tall and elegant, then Walburga was solidly built like a Valkyrie, though the plus side of that meant that she was generously endowed and curved. Has two younger brothers; Alphard Black in 5th year andCygnus Black in 4th year.
Firstborn of Pollux Black and Irma Crabbe, she is betrothed to her second cousin, Orion Black. Since she's a strident termagant, as Alphard will honestly say, and the oldest child of a cadet branch of Blacks, not many people has had the guts to gainsay her. As a result, her personality might be kindly described as intimidating.'
First Appearance: Passes fleetingly in Chapter 16 ("Mobilisations and Responses"). She does not actually appear in a scene until the first time Hermione met her in Chapter 57 ("Ministry Dinner").
As of Second Arc: Finds Hermione somewhat more interesting than her usual hangers-on since she's not easily intimidated.
