Celeste Sykes (OC): Ravenclaw sixth-year and one of the chasers on her house's quidditch team. She shares Advanced Transfiguration and Advanced Astronomy with Hermione. She took advanced classes with the realisation that she'd need it to give her a leg up for work after Hogwarts, not because she enjoyed it—she'd much prefer to fly. She only met Hermione through her dormmate, Julia Goldstein, and with all the news and rumours swirling around the transfer student, she found Hermione to be a somewhat unbelievable, larger-than-life figure. For that matter, she still couldn't believe she'd been personally invited to Lucretia Black's dorm. Celeste is a name that came from the Roman Caelestis, which meant 'of the sky' or 'heavenly'.
As she's a sixth-year and one who does not have a fervent academic zeal like Julia, her circles and Hermione's does not intersect often.
First Appearance: At the Ravenclaw tower in Chapter 35 ("Tea and Precocity"). She also appears in Chapter 38 ("Saturday Mornings").
