Emmerich Pryce (OC): Sixth-year Hufflepuff prefect and prefect partner to Ethel Macmillan. Just because he's a Hufflepuff doesn't mean he's a pushover. He is rightly proud when he hears that this year's Head Boy and Head Girl both came from Hufflepuff. It was about time and truly there was no one more worthy of the position than Andrew Abbott, in his opinion.
He's quite a stickler for the rules, and as such he is not always impressed with the way the Gryffindors do things. He and Verrault get along just fine. He's also not easily convinced by rumours, and thus keeps a sceptical eye on Tom Riddle. Let's not even mention about this new student named Curie who everyone somehow treats like Madam Álava reborn.
Emmerich is a Germanic name, in which the second element is ric meaning "power" while the second seems to be a modified or merged form that has several possible roots, from "whole, universal" to "work, labour".
First Appearance: The tense prefect meeting in Chapter 54 ("Returns to Hogwarts"). Also present in the subsequent chapters after that, 55 and 56 ("Les explosions à l'école I" and "Les explosions à l'école II").
