Chapter 20

Never

"It's better to break up with my son while your relationship is still new."

The wind blew once more, I shivered. Because of the wind or by her words, I am not sure. She reached for my hair and put some strands of it behind my ear. Her lips was forming a sweet smile but her eyes are reflecting her true feelings.

"I know you're a smart person, you'll understand. In the society we are all living in, what can love do? We need to be practical. Everything has to be sure." marahan niyang sinabi.

She stood up and looked down at me, like a master looking down at his worthless servant.

"Do it while I'm still asking you nicely, hija." may bahid nang paghahamon ang boses niya.

A small drop of rain dropped on the tea, that's when I realize, it's starting to rain.

"Come, let's go inside. Umaambon na,"

I nodded and slowly stand up from my seat, keeping my head held low. I followed her silently as she guides me back inside the mansion. They smiled at us.

I think it's gonna rain," sabi ng Mama ni Ron.

She glanced at me before turning back to their maid and smiled.

"Okay," she said then turned to me.

I looked around the place. Kung kanina'y hangang-hanga pa ako sa mga nakikita sa lugar na ito, now, all I can could feel is how out of place I was, inside this luxurious place.

Everything I see, and everywhere I look makes me feel so small. I don't belong here. In this place, and with the people inside it.

I want to runaway from here.

One of the girls is offering her hand to me. She smiled at me.

"I forgot to introduce myself earlier. My name's Amy, and this is my friend, Ynah." she said.

"Are you okay?" tanong ni Ynah at bahagyang tinagilid ang kaniyang ulo.

I nodded and slowly walked near them to take a seat. Amy smiled at me again.

I bit my lower lips. Is it bad to think that they're just being hypocrites? Or is this the effect of always hearing other people saying cruel things about me and, looking at me like I shouldn't be where they are?

What does your family do?"
