Chapter 22

Break Up

I couldn't sleep that night.

She's a mother who only wanted the best for her son. She knew that Eliron would experience hardships if our relationship continues so she wanted me to end it. I didn't listen to her that's why she got furious and ended up threatening me.

At iyon ang ginagawa niya, she's protecting Eliron and ensuring his future.

I can't believe how selfish I've become. I'm willing to see him lose everything just because of me. Then what? I'll let him go once he went through all that? You're so cruel, Zaylee.

I can't blame her to think that I am only after her son's money. If I really love him, I'll break up with him before I could drag him down to where I am completely.

I need to break up with him.

Fuck! I don't want to let him go.

The next day, Eliron drove me back to Bulacan. I couldn't talk to him normally after all the realization from last night of what I should do.

I didn't wait for him. I continued to open the door and stepped out of his car.

The people around us can't help but to turn their heads to him. Even though he's only wearing a simple plain black shirt and pants, his stance and aura alone tells just how unfit he is in places like this.

He deserves to be at the spotlight. He deserves the life he has today. He deserves everything he has—no, he deserves more than what he has now. He deserves to eat at a fancy restaurant, not a home cooked dish by an eighteen years old girl. He deserves a woman with dignity. Someone with confidence, elegant, self-worth and is living the same kind of life as he does.

I sighed.

He caressed my hair from the back.

"I'll miss you." he whispered.

I bit my lower lip, trying so hard to stop my tears from falling. I hugged him back and buried my face on his chest.

I don't deserve him.

If what Kuja Falcutila told me was true, Mommy's first love is Emmanuel Falcutila. They broke up because of his family and his engagement and marriage with her.
