Ronan made her breakfast
The blueberry flat cakes
Breathed back some life.
She forgot that she wore
Billy's ring
The engagement ring
For his would-be wife.

3Gun came in, wearing his lopsided grin
Rue was so happy to see him
he was back on his feet
With a hug, she did greet.
"So how's that other so in so?"
About Billy he wanted to know.
"Just a few more days."
As she talked, her hand she waved.
"Nice rock, who's it from?"
Suddenly Rue looked glum.
She slipped it from her finger.
"No one."
He tipped his hat, for he could see
He wasn't going to get more
from Ruechari.
She put the ring away.
Placing it with Billy's things.
Wondering when and what
he'd have to say.
She decided to go for walk
Overheard some talk
Of a carnival or circus
Coming this way
So she stuck around to hear
What the newcomer had to say.
It was hard not to take note of
that wink and smile
And how he had Bella
Lingering for a while.

Quite the charmer
That was easy to see
When he mentioned the Mayor
She stepped in, "Come with me."
"Name is Ruechari."
"Have you lived here long?"
"A few years."
" I can see why,"
He adds a wink and a smile,
"Some beautiful scenery."
Rue giggled,
"Are you referencing Bella or me?"
His ears turned red
at what she said,
"Well, I'm a fire-breather you see and
her flaming red hair is rather pretty."
"Curious? Did she happen to mention
a Deputy... by the name of Brody?"
He shook his head, no.
His shoulder he shrugged.
Ruechari took him to the café.
A pregnant woman she hugged.
Lorne hovered close by.
"So to what do we owe the visit?"
He wondered why?

"Mayor Lorne Order"
Rue introduced,
Lorne has that look of authority,
his place easy to deduce.
"Jacob Craven, I came to see
If we hold a carnival/circus maybe?
We'd like a chance to entertain the town,
To put on a performance. How does that sound?"
"I don't see why not. Your performances
will be out of town so you won't
need permits and whatnot.

At the Casino, she may give you a slot.

If you wish to promote your show."
Jacob was right grateful for the advice.
"This town and people seem awful nice.
I promised my sister something sweet."
Myna handed him a box of sample muffins.
"My treat."
The Mayor fussed about his wife
Standing on her feet.
She looked at him as if he was cute.
"It's fine so long as I'm not wearing boots."
"So Ruechari, can we perform for you?"
"Come back to the hotel with me and
we will see what we can do."
