Recovery
Laid down in a bed
recovering slowly.
Pain dulled
worst I've ever felt.
Doc coming in
checking up.
"How are you
doing Bella?
Breathing well?
Any pain?"
"Yes Doc I am
quite fine
though my curiosity
is off the charts
Why wouldn't
I have survived?"
"Your lung was punctured
unconscious you already were
I had to stitch it back up.
Almost lost you twice
a lot of blood you lost too.
Thankfully your body replenished
no need for transfusions but
another scar is added to your
collection."
Was I hearing him right?
Lung punctured?
Almost died twice?
No wonder my pain
was so extreme
"Who else knows
Doc?
I'd like not to worry
my friends."
"You and I now.
Your boyfriend refused to leave
but I kicked him out anyway.
Brody's suspicions are high
figured something's
gone wrong
I suggest telling
or his mind may not rest."
My head slowly wrapped around
this new knowledge
"Am I free to leave Doc?
I wish not to stare at these
walls much longer
work calls me."
"Not so fast!
You're off work
for a couple of days.
Doctors orders
2 muffins a day
for 4 days.
Then you may
return
until then
no work!
I've talked to Petra
The horses are fine."
Nodding,
"Understood doc
no work
2 muffins a day
I owe you one
for saving my life."
Smiling I got up
grunting in pain a little
"Take it easy Bella
and I'm only doing my job."
He smiled back
and bid me a good day.
Walking through the streets
of BG, I breathed in the air
finally able to be out
smile present
glad I was to be alive.
