Broken
My head told my heart
Not until you are alone
Can you fall apart.
Last thing I expected to see
Was Bruce naked in a tub
Holding out a sponge to me.
"I don't think so!
And just so you know
This is my place now
So you gotta go."
"Do I?
Seems to me this ring
On my hand says otherwise."
Bruce waves his hand at me
Grins and asks,
"Unless we have a misunderstanding?"
Of all the insufferable.
I put on my sweetest smile.
Saunter over with a sway of my hips
"You think this..."
Holding up my identical ring.
"Gives you certain... privileges?"
"Curious how a real wife would treat you?"
I bend over, acting as if,
I may give him a kiss.
Only it was a play,
to gather his clothes and throw them away,
out the front door.
