Realization

Jungkook turned his back to look at Jin who he hasn't seen for months. Yet the scene from the movie night started to hunt him again and he can't help but get angry at the innocent kid who knew nothing

"Tsk, you're annoying you know that, Kid?"

'Chuk'

Jin feels like there's something sharp stabbed his heart.

"You're cruel hyung, how could you say that every times you see me"

Jin internally cries bitter tear

"Long time no see Kookie hyung, I miss you"

Jin said with forced smile and the last part in almost a whisper, but Jungkook heard it loud and clear

"Don't make it sounds like you haven't seen me for centuries"

It's cruel, Jungkook knows but he can't help himself. He has to distant himself with all this weird things going on in heart because of the kid in front of him

Jin's eyes got teary. Still, Jin reached his hand out to give his hyung the cookie he's baked since early morning

"It's your favorite cookies, I've just baked them today. It tastes good; I promise"

He said with a hope smile on his face. At least, his hyung will enjoy them and that's enough for Jin to keep going

"I hate sweet as much as I hate you, you annoying kid" Jungkook said with brutal tune and push the package with the back of his hand hard, made it flew off from Jin's hand and crumbled on the floor just like Jin's heart at the moment

It shocked Jin to the core. He just stood there crying, looking at the heartless person in front of him. He didn't suppress his tear anymore. It's brutal, too cold for his fragile heart to handle

"What did I do wrong? why are you so cold to me hyung?" He feels weak, pathetic, and worthless. How could his Kookie hyung hate him so much? Did he do something wrong without him knowing?

"Ugh!!! annoying as usual, aren't you? You can't just cry over everything like a 5 years old kid. WEAK"

Jungkook feels inhuman, the kid is literally crying so hard and he didn't comfort him like he used to. It feels so wrong in every way, still, Jungkook willed himself to walk away from the scene

"Kookie hyun-" Jin turned around to grab his hyung

"Stop calling me that name too!! It's disgusting" Jungkook snatched his hand from Jin's grip and glare murderously at him. Whenever Jin called him that name, he feels like there's army of butterflies erupting in his belly. No way he's gonna allow that to continue disturbing his peace of mind. (A/N: you're going to regret that Kookie hah, God blesses You!!!)

Jungkook goes straight to his room, leaving poor Jin looking stunned with what's just happened.

It's like a slap to his face, hearing his hyung yelling at him to stop calling him 'Kookie hyung'

"Am I that annoying?" Jin didn't do anything to stop his tear, the kid just let it flows down like a breaking dam

Grandma Jeon arrived at the mansion, witnessed the fight between them, and was heart broken at the sight of her small bean crying. She walked fast to reach where Jin sat on the cement path in front of the garage

"Oh my small bean, don't cry. Everything will be okay, Jinnie"

She sat down and hug him tight, rocking little Jin in her embrace and just let him cries his heart out. Jin didn't utter a word, he's sobbing hard, feeling like his heart was ripped out of his rib.

That day, Jin asked his elders to go home first without saying anything. Judging from his swollen red eyes, anyone knew that he cried hard. They let him go, they know that Jin loves his Kookie hyung so much and won't miss such important festival if he has no specific reason behind it

Grandma Jeon knew that her youngest grandson is the reason behind this but she loves both of them too much to say anything.

Namjoon is clueless but he knows that this must be because of that kiss at his penthouse. He too didn't say anything and just comfort his lil' bean and send him home.

That was the dullest birthday party for Jungkook. He knows Jin wasn't there but his eyes can't stop wandering around looking for a small adorable figure

That will be the last time Jungkook heard Jin call him 'Kookie hyung' and that will be the biggest regret he has in his life in the next decade

That year, Jin didn't celebrate his birthday. He chose to go to school trip instead and since then Jin has never stepped his foot inside Jeon's mansion again. He didn't give any logical reason behind his actions and that was the last year Jungkook celebrates his birthday party.
