My uncle came around to pick me up. Nao fell asleep on my lap and Hitoshi was out of the interrogation room and promptly sat down next to me and started to fall asleep on my shoulder.
"The policeman was admitted about saying my quirk's a villainous quirk," Hitoshi whispered to himself as he yawned, I could tell that he was trying to stay awake. My eyes widen slightly.
"What a prick." I calmly said as Hitoshi let out a tired laugh. It was quiet in the police station, only the faint breathing of Nao and Hitoshi were audible. It was calming. But all good things come to an end.
A large group of people with notepads and cameras entered the scene. Reporters, of course. Because who doesn't love being harassed after they got suspicious looks from policemen.
"Ooh! You're the star crossed lovers, aren't you? Such a sweet couple! I was rooting for you!" One reporter said.
"Um yeah..." I said, covering my face with my hair. "Can you please back off, you're making her uncomfortable," Hitoshi said covering my face with his hands.
"You two are so sweet! If you were my niece you'd be my favorite niece as well." She said weirdly. She must have heard my uncle's radio show.
"Y/n!" I heard a voice yell from beyond the crowd. I didn't initially see my uncle but I did see his hair in all its standing glory.
"Uncle Yamada!" I yelled back the reporters all turned in seeming unison towards my uncle.
He pushed through the crowd. He sighed and bent down to my level. "Who's the kid?" He asked quietly which was kind of weird.
"A kid me and Hitoshi rescued," I said kind of proudly.
"It's Hitoshi and I, but whatever. Does he have a ride?" My uncle said pointing at Hitoshi. "I don't know. I don't want to leave the kid alone here though, those policemen don't like me-- Hitoshi and I." I said as Nao shifted on my lap.
"Well do you want me to work out some kind of deal with the policeman?" My uncle questioned.
"Well, what kind of deal are we talking about?" I questioned back. "Like the arrangement you had when Aizawa took you with him." He replied.
The choice was up to me, do I choose to leave the kid by himself in a police station where his mother murderer resided or do I want to take him with me and try to figure it out that way, it's not like a guardian would be appointed yet. I'm going to end up like my father. It's not rational to leave him here with the murderer.
"Yeah, let's do that," I said looking into my uncle's eyes. He walked toward the counter. The reporters took this opening to try to talk to me.
"So Juliet, can I call you Juliet? Rumors have it that you and Romeo here are a couple. Would you like to comment on that?" One male reporter asked putting the mic near my face.
"It's none of your business," I said with a monotoned voice. "There are rumors that you've started your internship with the best jeanist, what's that like?" A female reporter asked getting close to my face.
"Best Jeanist isn't my mentor and also he would most likely not pick me for his internship."
"What about the rumors of you knowing where Jincent Gomez is? The real one?" Another reporter asked.
"I don't know where she is but I assume she's alive but I don't know," I said this truthfully. I do hope Jincent's okay, not only because who knows what awful things Toki did to her but she's also my support designer and I was looking forward to meeting and working with her.
"Juliet! The press wants to know why did you lose during the one on one battle against him?" The reporter said, motioning towards my sleeping boyfriend.
"It just sometimes happens, I must have just accidentally forgotten to eat," I said not looking at any of the cameras. Next time I'm on the news I'm probably going to be shown as a villain in training, the media loves a good villainous family that tries to murder everyone. Makes for a good cover story.
"Why do you think Romeo didn't get into the hero program but you did?" Another reporter asked. "The initial simulation is strongly aimed at physical quirks and he doesn't have a physical quirk. I do have a physical quirk which is how I got to the hero course in the first place. It's unfair quite frankly, his quirk is a lot more helpful than mine, he could round up villains with a simple phrase. All I can do is stretch."
"Hey kid don't beat yourself up about it, you're quirk is cool, I was hoping that you would win." An older reporter said to me. I smiled slightly. "So sorry to disappoint," I said as my smile faltered a bit.
"Oh, it's okay! I understand really! I have a very similar quirk." He said this as his hand stretched towards the ceiling. "Of course I don't have as much control over my quirk as you do." He said this as his arm flopped to one side probably due to the lack of muscle in his arm.
"I promise I'll get better, you'll see!" I said with a wide smile. It gave me hope that there was someone who was like me that wasn't my mother.
Hizashi finished the paperwork and told me it was time to go. I nudge Hitoshi for him to get up and picked up Nao, careful not to wake him up.
The drive was silent, well almost silent. The sound of smooth jazz was playing from the radio and I heard the soft breathing of Hitoshi, slowly and calmly. His hand loosely held mine which was nice.
Nao was also asleep. He was very still in the seat next to me, his head leaned on my arm. His light violet hair covered his eyes mostly. Maybe it was a mistake.
What would my dad say? He'd probably say "it was irrational to take the kid with you, the police can handle him." But then I could point out, "you did the same to me 10 years ago, why is this any different?"
But he might say, "I was younger then and thought it was rational it was not." And then probably send me to a foster home and I would have to transfer to 1-B with no friends and the Hitoshi will want to break up with me and start dating another girl from 1-A, maybe like Mina or Momo, and then I'll just become just like my parents and sister and become an awful villain who just murders parents and their sibling just for this cycle to start again and again.
I snapped out of my thoughts to feel someone kissing my hand. I looked over at Hitoshi who was wide awake and looked concerned.
"Why are you crying?" He asked quietly. I hadn't realized that I was crying but now I do. Was I sobbing? Am I trembling?
"It's nothing, I can't be crying anyways, heroes aren't supposed to cry," I said wiping my face with my hand. "I mean, you can cry, it's not like your tear ducts are glued shut. But I just want to know why you're crying?"
"We're here!" My uncle said excitedly. I looked up at the street, there's when my inevitable fate occur.
