CHAPTER 18: About That Kiss

PARKER

The dinner seemed to be going real good and I was noticing after a few moments of her realizing I wasn't going to embarrass her, she began to loosen up a bit more.

Her laughter was infectious and real cute. She also seemed to have a good head on her shoulders and knew exactly how to negotiate.

"Oh, before I forget, are you sure you want to use a curvy woman as the main character?" The Director asked her.

"Yes. That's the point of these stories. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love seeing these beautiful thin actresses on the screen as much as the next person and might do that for some of my other stories as there are many talented ones out there, but for this story and character in particular, I want her to be curvy." She tells him.

He smiled with admiration at her as I grew more respect for her as a person and the fact that she is nothing like most girls.

"Alright then. That's what we will do." The Director smiles at her.

"Thank you." She smiled in return at him.

"Well great! Now that that's settled, let's get together in a couple of days to go over the contract and pick out times to start filming and everything." Ruth says.

"Sounds good." The Director said.

"Good! Let's cheers to the movie deal and to bringing your story to life among many more to come." Ruth announces with her glass of wine held in the air.

We all then clinked our glasses and cheers to each other.

When the dinner came to an end, after we all said our goodbyes, her and I stood outside along with her publisher and waited for the valet to come back with our cars.

First they brought up Ruth's car then ours moments later after we said goodnight.

"Well it was a pleasure meeting you and I hope we will see more of you." She smiles at me and I catch her winking at Macey.

"Oh he's not...." Macey began to say something which I knew what she was going to say and stopped her.

"That would be nice." I smiled at Ruth.

"Goodnight." She said and we said the same before she got in her car then drove off.

When my car pulled up, I opened the door for Macey and then got into my side then took off towards her place.

For some reason, there was an awkward silence being shared between her and I on the ride there. That was until we stopped at a stop light and she said something.

"Thanks for doing this tonight and coming." She tells me.

"You're welcome. It was fun." I replied.

We were quiet for the next several minutes until we got to her place. After we pulled up and got out then started walking upstairs towards her apartment, I for some reason couldn't help but think about how nice it was tonight.

We get to her door and she turns around before unlocking the door.

"Well, thanks again for tonight. I'll talk to you tomorrow. Goodnight." She says.

Before she turns back around to unlock and open up her door, I stop her and push her up against the door and look into her eyes while trying something I have never tried before with any other girl ever.

I gently placed my hand on the side of her face and looked from her eyes to her lips as I began moving in closer to her until I gently placed my lips onto hers and gave her a sweet and gentle kiss.

Not sure why I even did but a feeling suddenly came over me that I can't explain and that I haven't felt before. When we pulled our heads apart and looked at each other, she looked at me surprised as was I and then I just said goodnight and left.

For the rest of the night, I was going over in my head many times until I finally fell asleep about what happened in why I even kissed her.
