Third pov

Marinette felt like she was missing something. Why would the Wayne family be interested in the state of Paris?

She'd have to discuss it with the others later. For the moment they thanked them for the invitation. Alfred were the one driving them back.

The car ride was relatively quiet, but as they were heading into the hotel Marinette could see something moving across the rooftops in the distance.

Must be Gotham's team of vigilante's.

"Good night, young miss." Alfred nodded at her.

She smiled. "Good night, Alfred."

She followed her friends into the hotel where Adrien went his room that he shares with Nino and the girls went to theirs.

Chloe was more than happy to lay down on her bed while Marinette took a seat on one of the chairs.

"I can see those cogs turning. What'd ya got B?" Chloe asked.

"There's something strange about them. Their interest in Paris heroes. Their interest in akumas. Hell, one of them has been dead once. It's... They were digging for something I'm sure of it."

"I know. I felt the same as we sat there. The question is what and why."

The blonde shook her head. "I need to get some sleep."

"I'm going to do some more sketching."

Time skip

Around eleven Marinette made a decision.

She wrote a note and put it so Chloe could find it, transformed in the bathroom and went out on the balcony.

She jumped onto the roof of the closest building, wind ruffling her hair as she felt her body relax.

This was one thing she loved about being Ladybug.

The freedom as she ran across rooftops.

But she still had something she needed to do. One thing she'd been putting off.

She needed to talk to the bats and birds of Gotham.
