-next day- 

I went to the garden with my mother. We were linking arms and walking while admiring the flowers.

"My Rosie, where did you go yesterday?" my mother asked.

Oh, shoot. I didn't exactly tell them where I really went. I should tell her, they will find out sooner or later. I took a deep breath. 

"Mother, I met Duke Robert yesterday," I said.

She was shocked. "Y-you did?" she said.

I nod. "I asked him to marry me." I continue.

"Oh, I see," she said.

Huh?!

"Wait, mother. You are not mad." I said loudly.

"Huh, why would I?" I will be happy whoever you decide to marry." she said while hugging me tightly. 

"And if he hurt my baby, I will snap his neck off," she said with a menacing look.

Wow, scary. I will make sure not to mess with her.

"Just that your father wouldn't be pleased by this though," she comments.

Oh, that's right. Yeah, I can totally see that.

-Imaging father scolding me-

I will be fine, right? I did technically find someone before 5 days were over. 

After walking through the garden with my mother. I went to my dad's workplace. I was standing there, being super nervous. I finally have the grudge to knock on the door. 

I knock and open the door.

"Father, are you busy right now?" I said while standing at the door.

"No, Rosie. Come inside," he said.

I sat on the couch.

"Father, I have something to tell you," I said nervously.

"What is it?" he said while continuing his work.

"I will be marrying Duke Robert," I said yelling.

"Okay. " he responded.

What? Okay. Is that all you have to say? No yelling.

"Father, you are not going to yell at me," I said dumbfounded.

"No. why should I?" he asked while looking scary. 

"um...no reason," I said nervously.

"I know you are not a baby anymore. And I shouldn't scold you when you are trying to make your own decision. If it makes you happy, then I'm fine with it. " he said.

"Really, papa?" I said happily. 

I cry and hug him tightly. 

"Thank you, papa," I said smiling brightly.

He blushed a little and cleared out his throat.

"Anything for you, my beloved girl," he said hugging me back.

Ahh, but I'm not your "beloved girl" though.

-a few days later-

I was reading a book then I heard a knock.

"Come in," I said

Emily came inside.

"there a letter for you from the duke," she said while giving it to me.

Oh, already? I wonder what his response is going to be? 

I open it nervously.

Dear Lady Rose,

I'm sorry for responding to you late. Please come over to my mansion and continue

discussing the contract.

Thank you.

- Duke Robert.

oh, so he wants me to visit him. Wait, what if he is going to reject me there instead of putting it in on the letter. No, if he rejects me, I will be a force to marry Earl. No, I will make sure he signed the contract.

I got ready and went outside where the carriage is. After a few minutes, I made it to the mansion. The same butler waited for me and escorted me inside. I walk inside and see duke sitting there waiting for me.

"Ah, I see. You are finally here. " he said smiling.

Why are you smiling? Don't tell me he is going to reject me.

I started to get nervous.
