I know this probably isn't what you wanted and that the ending sucks but I was sitting next to a guy from my old school and he was reading it as I was typing and I didn't want to go into more detail...yeah. Oh and I couldn't come up with a good name either so

And i'm sorry i'm not updating as much at the moment but school is being a bitch so yeah. xx /M ~

“Hazelnut macchiato for Paul!” Calum calls out, placing the cup with the name Pawl written on it. He’s perfectly aware of the fact that he’s misspelled the name, he knows the man will be confused, wondering how someone could misspell such a simple name. The truth is, Calum’s just doing it to fuck with him. He hates his job, hates watching groups of teenage girls coming in with their iPhones and uggs, giggling as they’re ordering their pumpkin spiced lattes and taking a million selfies with those just to prove that yes they are grown up and yes they’re so cool because they drink coffee. They would definitely find it extremely amusing if he misspelled their names, and that’s why they are the only ones whose names he always get right, he doesn’t want to give them that. He doesn’t understand how girls becomes so...braindead. When he was their age the girls he knew actually had personalities, they didn’t all dress exactly the same and they didn’t walk around in shoes THAT ugly. But then again, he didn’t really pay attention to the girls.

So yeah, Calum hates his job. He loves messing with people, watching them trying to understand how their names got so misspelled, but he hates his job. He’s not even allowed to listen to his own music, not even when there’s no one in there except him.

There is one thing though, one thing that makes his days a little better. Every day around four, the doors opens and a boy that can be described as a ball of sunshine without that being to exaggerate comes in.

Ashton doesn't even like coffee, in fact he hates it. He didn’t even mean to go to Starbucks that first day two months ago. It was raining, like really really raining, and the coffee place was the first thing he saw so he just ran in there, only to be greeted by a grumpy girl who told him that if he didn’t buy anything he wouldn’t be allowed to stay there. She soon disappeared into the back, only to be replaced by a tall boy with dark hair. He seemed a little less grumpy than her and Ashton hesitantly walked up to the counter, asking for something that didn’t taste like coffee. The boy had laughed, naming all the things they had that didn’t taste anything like coffee, and Ashton had decided to just go with a salted caramel hot chocolate, since that sounded at least a little bit interesting and not as plain as normal chocolate. After asking for his name the boy turned to make the drink and Ashton takes a seat, waiting for his name to be called. To his surprise, that never happened. Instead, Calum, at least Ashton thoughts that was his name since it said so on the tag, came over with it, taking the opportunity to sit down and relax for a while, since they didn’t have any other costumers at the time. They talked for a while and Ashton decided that maybe coffee isn’t that bad after all, at least when you don’t have to actually drink it.

And now here he is, he’s been coming there every weekday since August, always at four when he knows Calum will be there. Sometimes, when the place is crowded, they don’t have time to actually talk, but it’s nice to at least get to see him every day. Those days, when they can’t stop for a moment and talk, Ashton always tries to say at least one thing that makes Calum smile, most of the time that being a very silly name, and it usually works. And no matter how many times Ashton’s said his name is Bianca with a Z, Calum’s never gotten his name wrong, not even on purpose.

“Hi Cal.” he greets, walking past the group of teenage girls, all of them staring at him for some reason. Calum smiles and looks around, sighing in relief when the girls leaves, giving them a few minutes to talk before someone else comes in.

“Hi Ash.” he turns around to make Ashton’s chocolate, knowing what he’ll order, and when he does so he hears the door open again. Turning around, he whispers out a curse when he sees the person coming towards them. “Hello Nykal.” Calum’s fully aware that the boy’s name is Michael, but he knows it gets on Michael’s nerves when he calls him Nykal,

“Gollum.” Michael nods, walking past Ashton without looking at him. “get me my usual.” Ashton frowns, not liking the way this stranger talks to Calum, but doens’t say anything.

“Nope, sorry you’re gonna have to wait, I’m gonna get Ashton his drink first.” Calum says before turning back to the mashine. Michael takes a look around the place, for the first time noticing Ashton. He gives him a one over, eyebrows raised as he does so, before turning back to Calum.

“Well hurry up will you? I gotta get back to work.” Calum doesn’t answer, he turns back around handing Ashton his cup.

“I’ll be with you in a minute.” he promises, pointing towards what has became their table. Ashton nods, walking ovee and sitting down. He picks up one of the newspapers that’s laying in front of him, but it’s impossible for him to read with Calum this close. Ashton’s had a crush on him for almost as long as he’s known him, and every day the feelings grows stronger. He loves watching Calum work, loves watching him move around between all the different mashines like it’s the most nartual thing in the world for him.

“Thanks, see you around Gollum.” Michael finally gets his order and leaves, and the second he opens the door Calum leaves his place behind the counter, coming over to Ashton. He sits down, immediately grabbing the still untouched cup and drinking half of it in one go.

“Oops.” he laughs, almost like he didn’t realise what he did until it was done, and Ashton smiles. He doenst mind at all. “Alright, let me make that up do you.” Ashton raises an eyebrow but nods, waiting for Calum to continue. “let’s go out, I know this club nearby and the music there is amazing, wanna come with me?” Ashton’s never been much of a drinker and he’s never really understood the whole concept of going to a club to get drunk and dance with drunk strangers, but he nods again.

“Sure.”

“Can I get you something mate?” Ashton can barely hear the bartender over the music, but somehow he does and he nods, pointing at an empty beer bottle on the counter next to him. The blonde man in front of him nods, pulling out another bottle from somewhere and handing it to Ashton.

“Cheers.” Ashton been there for two hours now and he’s already lost Calum, who’s been drinking constantly since he stepped inside and who’s probably really drunk by now. Ashton’s had one beer and is just starting on his second, but he’s having a pretty good time watching people make fools out of themselves while dancing.

“Heeey!” Calum suddenly appears next to him, sweaty and still with a bottle in his hand. He’s smiling widely as he takes the seat next to Ashton. “hello dude, can you get me another one of these?” he yells after the bartender, waving the still half full bottle.

“He’ll just have a coke.” Ashton quickly says, knowing he’ll be the one having to try and get Calum home. Luckily from him, the dark haired boy next to him is too busy examining his own fingers to really listen. The bartender nods and hands Calum a coke instead, discreetly taking the beer bottle from his as well.

“So guess what.” Calum says, looking up from his fingers. He blinks a couple of times before focusing his eyes on Ashton. “I think I’m in love with Ashton.” and at that moment, Ashton swears everything stops. Everything. It doesn't, not for anyone else, but for him. He just sits there, staring at the drunk, smiling Calum who doesn't have any idea what he just did.

“We..we’ll uh...talk about that when you’re sober, okay?” Calum nods, still smiling, and Ashton suddenly realises what this means. He’s always been told that it’s when you’re drunk that you’re the most honest, and that must mean that Calum actually...actually feels something for him. And even if he doesn’t, maybe Ashton should take this chance, maybe he should because if Calum didn’t meant what he said he probably won’t ever get it again. And so he does. “Wanna come with me to the bathroom Calum?” he asks, and Calum nods, standing up and grabbing his hand, pulling him towards the, probably really nasty, bathrooms of the club, both of them, even Calum in his intoxicated state, knowing exactly what’s about to go down.
