Riley's POV

I sigh heavily and tiredly as I closed the door behind me.

I walked up to my room, stripping off my coat as I walked. I flopped onto my bed, staring up at the ceiling.

"I hate that women." I mutter to myself, thinking of James's mother.

"Can I come in?" I hear Emily ask at the bottem of the stairs.

"Sure." I reply. She comes up and takes a seat on my bed.

"So, how was work?" She asks.

"Um, fine." I reply suspiciously.

"I see." She says slowly. She crosses her legs, and fold her hands in her lap, smiling sweetly at me.

"Em, just cut to it." I persist. She sighs.

"I'm leaving this Friday to go back." She tells me.

"Yeah, I know that." I say with a 'duh' tone.

"And, I was wondering if you wanted to come back with me." She inquires, choosing her words carefully.

"How long, like a weekend or something?" I question. She sighs.

"No. Like...To move there, and live there." She explains, giving me a weak smile. I blink, staring at her in disbelief.

"Um, I talked to dad about it already. He said it would be fine." She says. I look down and okay with my hands as i think. "I mean, it's totally up to you. But you'll have a better life with me. I will be able to provide for the both of us, and you might not have to work anymore. Just think Ri, you can have a great life with me."

I just sit and think. I won't have to work. I can have a normal life. I'll be treated normally again. This can be great for me. But that will also mean having to leave James.

"Just think of it, okay?" Emily says softly. She lightly touches my shoulder and leaves again.

James's POV

"You should ask Riley to come over for supper tonight." Jacob tells me as we play video games together.

"Why? So you can try to flirt with her, or so mom can hate on her some more?" I mutter.

"Neither, but if I had to pick, than i would go with the first one." He says.

"Well, it will probaly end up being the second one. You know mom hates Riley." I mutter, trying to concentrate on the game.

"Well she probaly never got to know her yet." He replies.

"Like she would like to take the time to try."

I finally decided to take my little brother's suggestion into comsideration and proceeded to call Riley.

"Hello?" Her sweet voice says as she answers the phone.

"Hey Riles. Want to come over for supper?" I ask.

"Are you sure that's a good idea?" She asks.

"Yeah of course it is." I reply.

"Okay I guess." She replies. I hear her sigh before she adds,

"And there's something I need to tell you."
