I shoved my phone into my pocket, the light flickered to green and I pressed on the gas.
It was finally the day of the cheer team's competition. Lastnight we stayed up all night on a call because Aelia couldn't sleep. Her nerves got the best of her she couldn't sleep.
Well neither could I, she fell asleep eventually after bickering about something I did. The usual, but I couldn't help but overthink.
Aelia is so passionate about the work she does, her heart would break into pieces if she poured her everything into this competition and lose it. I couldn't bare the sight of my girl's heart broken by her own hands.
After hours of arguing with myself about using my powers to help them, I decided not to. This was all her, the team. They practiced their asses off to get there and it's only fair that they win or lose honestly. I really hope they win because I just promised Aelia they would.
If they don't then that'll be the first lie I ever told to her, even if I wasn't responsible for it.
I pulled into the parking lot and locked my car, in the corner of my eye I notice Dani at the front door waving at me. I smiled and joined her
"Nice of you to show" I said
"I have to support my future sister in law" she said
"Sister in law? When did our fathers get married?" I chuckled
"People say we're like sisters" she smirked
"That's some gross incest shit" I laughed as I poked her sides
"What are you doing step sis" she playfully gasped, I laughed as we walked into the venue.
The seats were packed with teenagers, some adults and children. The buttery popcorn smell filled my nose as I walked over to a seat with Dani
"I'm actually supporting two girls and a gay today" she said, I raised a brow and followed her eyes who were pasted on Mia doing warm ups
"Oh my God you like her don't you"
"Who? Aelia? Fuck no"
"You know exactly who I'm talking about" I chuckled
"Nope, no idea" she said smirking
