Luna's pov

-

My hands brought the stick into park, I released my feet from the brake and turned off the engine. I glanced at myself in the mirror, my golden chain shined under the sunset peeking through the car window.

I was parked in front of Aelia's house, my hands gripped the small box on the car seat before shoving it into my sweatpants. I climbed out the car and locked it, my feet dragged across the fleshly cut green lawn.

"Hello Jake" a voice was heard, I whipped my neck around to see a familiar elderly woman

"I'm sorry, do I look like a sack of disappointments to you?" I questioned

"What happened to that nice young man she was with" the older woman questioned. She was standing near Aelia's mailbox, I guess she was on a daily walk

"Ms Alicatt, he was far from nice. Looks can be deceiving" especially to your beedy little eyes

"But she looked so happy with hi-"

"Oh for fuck sakes, CAN SOMEBODY COME GET THEIR GRANDMOTHER" I yelled through the street, I knew she lived across the Green's so hopefully someone might hear. Ah, my pleads were answered when the door swung open

"Oh my God, I'm so sorry, Mom! Get in here!" A middle aged woman said

"I'm coming I was just talking to the nice young lady over here" The elderly woman said. Okay awww

"Do you need some help Ms Alicatt?" I questioned. Don't judge me!

"I don't want to bother you-"

"Oh please, It's not problem at all" I smiled, I walked over to the elderly woman and held her hands securely. Her feet trembled when she moved. At that point, I realized how sick she really was.

I closed my eyes and felt my blood turn to mush, the woman's energy was picked up through my touch. I suddenly realized she didn't have that much time. My eyes flung open once again, my heart ached at the elderly woman before me.

"Why do you walk around every afternoon?" I questioned, we took slow steps across the street.

"I know my daughter, I know she puts a brave face on when she walks into the same room with me but she cries when she's alone. To tell you the truth, I- I don't have that much time left here sweetie. I've been sick for a while, every afternoon I go take a walk to clear my mind and give my daughter a chance to be alone, even if it's for an hour" she said through shaky breaths

"May I ask why the questioning about Aelia's ex?" I asked

"Oh dear me, I'm sorry. Did I come across as homophobic?" she asked, my eyes grew wide

"Oh don't worry dear, I just thought they were together, then the next day I saw her with a girl. I was just very confused. I apologize" she chuckled

"Not to worry Ms Alicatt, I understand" I laughed with her

"Do You love her?" the woman questioned

"Yes, yes I do" I smiled

"That's sweet, young love. I remember when Robert and I were that age. Unfortunately he died a few years ago, I guess I'll be seeing him in hell soon" she said laughing

"You know what Ms Alicatt? I can assure you you'll be going to heaven" I smiled, she placed her hand on her door to stable herself, we were now at her house. Her daughter stood next to us as she watched
