Chapter 18

Isang panghapong araw ang natanaw ko at malamig na tubig ang sunod na naramdaman ng lumubog ako sa hindi kalalimang tubig dagat. It was an insticnt to close my eyes, the salt water makes my eyes a bit discomfort.

"Baby, That's enough!"

"Mommy!" angal ko habang inaayos ang pagkakasakay sa hugis pandang salbabida.

I giggled when I saw a school of fish passed by. It looks like those fish I've watch in tv, the one with orange color.. May alagang ganon si Alavi, I want that too but shes too madamot to share it with me.

My hand automatically extended to reach it. Napasimangot ako ng nagkahiwa-hiwalay sila para lumayo.

Natakot ko ata sila.

My God! I won't eat them, I just want to feel them in my hand. Kung kakain ko man sila edi iyong malaki na tsaka iyong niluto ni Daddy, masarap pa iyon hindi tulad nila na ang liit pa.

As if they could ease my hunger.

Matalim ang tingin na sinundan ko iyong isa sa kanila, mukha talaga siyang si Nemo.

Maybe, I could catch it and bring it home. Papakita ko kay Alavi na hindi lang siya ang may kaibigan na Nemo.

Lagi niyang pinagyayabang sakin na marami siyang kaibigang artista sa tv. Kahit iyong kaibigan ni Spongebob na hugis star meron rin siya.

I want that too, only if mommy would allow me.

Dahan dahan kong inagat ang kamay ko para hulihin ang maliit na isda, it look lost though, hindi niya ramdan ang paglapit ko sa kaniya dahil masyado siyang focus sa paghahanap sa mga kasama niyang isda na kanina pa umalis.

Inilubog ko ang kamay sa tubig pero hindi parin siya umaalis. I was very sure that I can catch this fish.

I can finally have my own pet.

Maybe I should hide it from mom, but how will I take care of it?

"Ano ba yan!" I angrily shout as I watch my target pet swim away with dismayed. Mabilis itong lumangoy palayo, natakot sa biglaang pagtalon ni Kuya.

"You're really annoying Kuya, isusumbong kita kay Mommy"

"What did I do this time?" he really looks confuse that you might thought his telling the truth but I know him better.

"I just want to swim here, Am I not even allow to do that?"

I scoffed.

"Really? Here? of where I was too?" My voice laced with sarcasm. "Ang lawak ng dagat kuya, cant you see?"

"You can jump and swim doon" sabay turo sa kanang parte. "Or doon naman sa kabila" tinuro ko naman sa kaniya ang kaliwang parte ng dagat. "Anywhere, basta malayo sakin" inis kong sumbat sa kaniya.

"But I want it here" he said after putting the googles.

Mas lalong tumalim ang tingin ko sa kaniya ng makitang googles ko ang gamit niya. Kaya wala akong magamit dahil nasa kaniya na pala.

"And mommy ordered me to watch you." he added before diving to swim in a more deeper part.

My line of vision followed him, masama ko siyang sinundan ng tingin ng mas lumangoy pa siya sa malalim na parte. There is something inside of me that worried for him but then I realize that hes a good swimmer. At first, I want to follow him but I know that even of I want to, I couldn't.

Water will never be my buddy.

"Watch me? Ano ako bata? I can perfectly handle myself, you don't have to babysit me." Bungad ko sa kaniya ng umahon siya.
