Chapter 36

Naglalakad ako pauwi ng bahay galing school ng matigilan.

Namilog ang mata ko at kusang kumurba ang labi para sa isang ngiti, hindi ko napigilan ang mga paa ko at naglakad palapit sa batang babae na may hawak na fish bowl habang marahang dumuduyan sa playground ng subdivision namin.

I think we have the same age, we went to the same primary school too.

"Hi! My name is Berry Blessed Artiaga. We just move in the other weeks." humina ang boses ko ng seryosong tinignan niya lang ako. I cleared my voice and continued. "I've seen you from school and near our house area-."

"So?" she prankly said.

"Huh?" I asked.

I looked away, only to find out that childern were scattered around the area but she's alone.

"So? I don't care who you are and why you move in to our subdivision."

She's so mean!

Hindi ako nagsalita at nanatiling nakatayo lang sa harap niya. Napadako ang tingin ko sa kulay orange niyang isda.

Oh My God! Thats Nemo!

"You like my pet?" she suddenly asked.

I nodded.

She extended her arms and hand me the bowl. I automatically smiled and I freed my hands to accept  but it easily faded when she quickly withdraw the bowl and laughed.

"In your dreams!" sigaw niya sa akin sa pagitan ng pagtawa. Napahigpit ang kapit ko sa school bag ko dahil sa inis. "Sabi ko na nga ba e, nilapitan mo ko kasi may kailangan ka! What a lame tactics."

My lips parted. How could she say that?

"You're so mean! I just wanted to be friends with you but now I don't want it anymore." tumulo ang luha ko galit.

How could a ten year old girl could be this bad. Isusumbong ko siya kay kuya Breeze.

"Whatever. Just leave me alone." sabi niya.

Gusto kong tumakbo pauwi at umiyak sa kwarto ko. I just want to see her fish because mom never allowed me to have a pet. Pero sa hindi maipaliwanag na dahilan ay nanatiling nakatayo ako sa harap niya habang matalim siyang tinitigan. Napahikbi ako at mas lalong bumuhos ang luha ng makitang masayang nagpaikot-ikot sa sa loob si Nemo.

"Is that Nemo?" I asked between my sob. "How and where you get it?"

Ngumisi siya at inalog-alog ang tubig. I want to stop her kasi baka mahilo ang isda.

"Yeah! This is Nemo, cool right?" she bragged. "Mom and Dad bought it for me. My siblings help me feed it and took care of it."

Nalungkot ako kasi bakit sa kaniya pa napunta si Nemo e ang salbahe niyang bata.

"We have big aquarium in the house and it has different spieces of fish. I have a puppy too and a rabbit-."

She was mentioning alot of animals and I just listened to her. I know na nagmamayabang lang siya by the way she brag her things but still I stayed with her.

"And we have a cat too. Sobrang mabalahibo siya tapos malambing. Siya nga ang pinasyal ko kahapon tapos ngayon ay si Nemo naman bukas plano kong dalhin si-"

"Alavi!" Sigaw ng lalaki hindi kalayuan sa amin.

"Oh My gosh! Why did he find me so early?" she whispered to herself. "Kuya! Bakit ang aga mo naman akong sunduin?" sigaw niya rin pabalik doon sa lalaki.

"Andito ka lang pala Alavi. Come on, uwi na tayo" nakangiting sabi ng kuya niya. Siguro mga kaedad niya lang rin ang kuya Breeze ko or baka mas matanda siya. Nagreklamo iyong batang babae pero tumawa lang ang kuya niya at ginulo ang buhok nito.
