Eddie rolled his eyes as Richie made yet another joke. "That's so not funny, dude, that's freaking disgusting." Richie smiled, "Oh yeah? How disgusting on a scale of you to your mother's underwear?" Eddie groaned as everyone laughed once more. The Losers had all decided to spend a night together. They were currently at Richie's house, calmly hanging out in his backyard. The entire night so far had been filled with Richie throwing insults and jokes aimed at his asthmatic best friend. He actually didn't mind it much; sure, picturing his mom's underwear isn't the best visual but he didn't mind it coming from Richie.

"By the way, Richie, where was Connor today? I didn't see him during lunch." Bill mentioned. Eddie noticed Richie slightly stiffen at the mention of his boyfriend. Richie had mentioned some things to Eddie one night about Connor. Let's just say if Eddie wasn't so small compared to the boy, who was almost two times his size, he would make sure Connor never saw the light of day ever again.

"Eh, he probably ditched or something. He might show up tonight but-" "Of course, I showed up." Connor placed two hands on Richie's shoulders before bending down to kiss the boy's cheek. "How are you guys?" He asked, sitting down between Eddie and Richie. The group replied with nods and various mumbles. Eddie sighed and grabbed his drink, "Never better, asshole." He mumbled.

Connor eyed him as the rest of the group carried on with their conversation, "So Eddie, Richie told me about your little run-in with Bowers last week. Thanks for protecting him back there, I guess." That was a sarcastic remark and Eddie knew it; all he did was throw his inhaler at Henry, who thankfully didn't have Patrick or Belch with him, and bike Richie back home. "Yeah, well at least it's more than you've ever done. You're too embarrassed to even look at Rich outside of his own house."

Richie overheard what Eddie said and turned to the boys, "Eddie, it's okay. It's not safe for him to be out, it's not his fault." Eddie gaped at the couple, "Rich, this isn't a healthy relationship, okay?" Connor furrowed his eyebrows, "Hello, I'm right here." "Rich, remember what you told me, we can help you-" "Wait, what did you tell him?" Richie looked down at his hands. "Oh my god, are you serious right now? You told him about that? I already told you I was sorry, what more do you want? How am I supposed to get better when you make everything about you? I'm already dealing with my own stuff and now I have to help you too?" Connor scoffed and got up to leave.

Richie quickly followed after him. "Wait, Connor! I swear it was an accident, I was drunk and Eddie was just making sure I was safe, so he took me to his house-" "So now you're telling me you and him spent a night together? And you were drunk? What exactly did you guys do that night?" "No, Eddie's not like that, we didn't do anything-" "Forget it, Trashmouth. You're a slut who doesn't care about anyone but yourself."

Each of the losers left after that so Richie could be alone. Except Eddie, obviously. They were now inside Richie's room, Richie opened his door and motioned for his friend to leave. "Eddie, just leave, please." Eddie shook his head, "No, I can't do that, Rich. You need to talk about this-" "Fine! I'll talk; you made my boyfriend break up with me because you can't keep your mouth shut! I told you that I had it under control, he was getting better, but you ruined it." Richie glared at Eddie. "Richie, you were in a toxic relationship, you knew he was bad for you and you were brave enough to tell me-" "Never making that mistake again."

Eddie sighed and stood closer to Richie. "Rich, look at me. You're not actually that mad at me, I saw how shaken up you were when you told me. You're just embarrassed that Connor said those things in front of our friends. He's hurt you so much that you actually think you deserved it but you didn't. You don't deserve how he treated you and you never will; you aren't a bad person."

Richie felt more tears build in his vision; he quickly pulled Eddie into a tight hug and hid his face in Eddie's shoulder. "It's okay, I'm here." Eddie spoke softly, wrapping his arms around Richie's torso.
