Chapter 16

When I wake up, Ross isn't there. I furrow my eyebrows and get up. I slowly walk down the stairs and I to the kitchen. I pick up a small piece of paper, studying the words.

Lynn,

Babe, I'm sorry. I had to go to my parents' house. I can't do this anymore. I brought some of my stuff and would like to know when you won't be there, so I can pick up the rest.

But.. What!? This coming from the person who's been trying to make me feel perfect all day!? This isn't even his hand writing! What the hell is going on!?

I pick up my phone and dial Ross' number.

"Hey, babe. I'm on my way back now. I got pizza and movies and some popcorn!" He says excitedly.

"Your brothers or parents don't like us together." I sigh.

"What? Why would you say that?" He asks in disbelief. I sigh again, and read him the note. "I never wrote that! I would never breakup with you! Let alone through a note!" He yells defensively.

"I know. But someone doesn't want us together." I say as tears make their way down my face.

"I'm here. I'll be in, in two seconds." He says angrily and hangs up.

He walks in with a pizza box and two grocery bags. I help him and he looks beyond pissed off. "Hey, babe, it's fine. Don't make a big deal out of it." I whisper and push some hair away from his eyes.

"I can't just brush it under the carpet. Someone tried to destroy us.. Someone who knew today.." He trails off.

I widen my eyes. "Did Calum tell anyone?" I ask as the tears start back up.

He's quick to wipe them away. "Riker, maybe. But I'm not sure. Riker's always had a thing for you and he probably did it. Baby, please don't be mad." He says quickly.

I just nod and he pulls me into a hug. "Why am I even crying about this!? It happened a year ago! I should be over it!" I shout and pull away from him. He shoots me a confused look, caused by my quick turn of emotions. "Ross, just think. We could be doing anything right now! But instead we're crying because of something we couldn't make better or worse.. And it's from a year ago!" I yell.

He smiles. "So what do you wanna do?" He asks.

I shrug. "This food isn't going to eat itself!" I exclaim and pick up a piece of pizza.

We laugh as we eat and talk. "So what now?" He asks as he wipes my mouth.

I smirk. "We could go get ready and go to a party......." I tease.

His face lights up and he nods before dragging me upstairs.

I throw on a red party dress and heals before doing my makeup. Ross puts on black skinny jeans, a white t-shirt and a leather jacket.
