Shouto Todoroki Relationship Headcanons

Author's Note:

My boy Shouto is finally getting some attention. So most of my issue with him was how many different ways he can be received. You know what I'm talking about; we've got hyper-closeted horny teenager Shouto, we've got suave, sexy, smooth-talking rich boy Shouto, we've got innocent oblivious Shouto, and then there's always Shouto the hopeless chronic flirt. Needless to say, picking one to stick with was kind of giving me a headache. I decided to make these headcanons based off what I think the most canonically agreeing Shouto would be like, although I'm most certainly not saying I'm afraid to take some liberties and pick from the list above when writing more Shouto shots in the future (¬‿¬).

You don't have to agree with me, these are just my thoughts. Writing this got me in similar vibes that I was in when I did that Kirishima rant that one time. I might tweak and add more to this list because my brain is weird and doesn't think of things until AFTER I post my stuff (where can I get a new one?) so yeah, idk.

Some quick Todoroki relationship headcanons because my brain is confused and can't figure him out

● Honestly, I'm going into these kinda headcanoning Sho as on the ace spec. I really have a hard time picturing him in a relationship

● So if you want him, he's going to have to want you too

● But I mean, who wouldn't? You're perfect to him

● He might be a little more demi, wanting to really get to know a person before he even thinks about being romantically interested in them

● He'll become friends with you for a long time, until one day, his feelings towards you will suddenly shift

● Like, he'll just look at you and his heart will jolt as he realizes how cute you are, and he's not sure what to do with himself because he just suddenly wants nothing more than to be close to you??? What??? Is??? This???

● He never thought he'd really be on the whole relationship scene, but here he is, somehow getting so flustered over you

● He's probably more interested in approaching you, taking his own time to come to terms with himself

● I've read something before where he decides he has feelings for you, but can't quite explain it, so he goes to talk with his mom about them

● So yeah, I think she's his go-to when he needs advice on his feelings and relationship, followed by his brother, who actually has some experience in dating

● Additionally, he does a lot of 'research' on the internet

● Remember those 'How to Understand Girls/Boys' and 'How to Kiss' videos you would watch when you were twelve?

● Solid study material for him. Practically becomes his religion

● Also any kind of romantic movie he can get his hands on

● Will spend hours trying to figure out the perfect things to say and do to get you to swoon

● Makes him a little more cliche, but it's nothing to complain about

● Once he actually starts dating you, it's a bit of a learning curve

● He's not used to being touched, so gently and slowly taking the time to allow him to learn and adjust to physical affection is key
