Chapter 3- The Search

It's been three days, and y/n hadn't left her room to spend time with her family in any sort of event. She was unsure of herself. Upset and scared, but she would never admit. So instead of talking out her feelings she went outside and trained until satisfied. Yesterday she blew up in one of the guy's face, and thing's didn't end too well.

[Yesterday...]

"Princess Y/n?" She looked up from her desk and glanced Haru's way. "What?" "Your trainers are here." Standing, y/n left with Haru and arrived at the same set of children she's been seeing for eight years now. She drops her robe and got in a fighting stance. "Come at me when ready."

"Tch, with pleasure." The first was a boy that rushed forward, shooting fire all around to block her escape, but she controlled that fire and sent it back nearly burning him. Another was a girl, who created fire rings and shot it at her one by one. Y/n jumped through every hoop landing a punch to her jaw, sending the girl flying across the brick ground.

Everyone else surrounded her and fired all at once. When they were done, y/n's entire body was made of armoured fire. She smirked, "you have five seconds to save your skin. Literally." Then she released the fire whacking every single one of them, watching them fall to the ground one by one. All except the guy from before. He had deep brown hair and almond eyes. He was light brown, and taller than y/n by an inch or two.

"What Gon?" She asked him. Gon growled and grabbed her by the shirt, "I don't care if you're Fire Nation Princess or the frickin AVATAR! That fight was totally unfair, how can you beat us again and keep beating us! You're one measly little girl, it's embarrassing! For once I wanna win and shove it in your royal avatar butt face!!"

Y/n clenched her fists and the guards rushed over ready to give Gon third degree burns but she stopped them. "No, this is my fight." She gripped Gon's own shirt, pulling him in close so he could see her deep e/c eyes. "You think it's nice being a princess and an avatar for you ass wipes!? News flash, I hate it!! I hate it all! I hate you, I hate the rest of them, I hate being the avatar and I hate being a stupid princess that keeps beating your asses! Oh, what's that? Upset about always losing?! Then try WINNING for once in your life bitch!"

"Woah, woah Princess Y/n, no need to curse!" Y/n turned and glared at the crowd of kids. "Who said that?" Gon harshly spat on her face and that's when the guards went closer to intervene, but still y/n stopped them. This time it wasn't because she told them to, but they stopped on their own.

Y/n entire hands were covered in the blue flames, and her eyes were shining like them as well. She pulled back and struck the air, then she turned to the others and aimed to actually get rid of them. Unfortunately they ran away and she lost her control of it.

[Back to present time]

Y/n turned and faced the wall. She outstretched her hand and closed her eyes trying to make blue flames again but nothing came. "I'm pooped." The place was hot enough as it was! She wished it were a cool day!

Someone came knocking at her door and y/n glared at it. "Come in." What she didn't expect was her mother. "Mother?" "Honey, can I talk to you?" She sat next to y/n on her bed and brushed her hair behind her ear. "You haven't come to eat breakfast or dinner with us in three days. You haven't eaten for three days! Are you trying to kill yourself? What's the matter, what's wrong? You're never like this y/n."

Y/n folds her arms and turned her head left not facing m/n. "I'm great mother. Nothing could ever be better!" M/n sighed. "If you say so." They sat there in silence, nothing more to be said. Or at least they thought so.

M/n rubbed the tears from the corner of her e/c eyes and looked into y/n's. "You know..you have to leave soon, to travel the world and master the other elements..right?" Y/n glared, "how soon?" She asked her mother. "In two days soon." "Yeah, I know." M/n sobbed, "I'm sorry for being so dramatic, but it just hurts to see my only child leaving to travel the entire world, to become the avatar and help protect this world!"

She covered her face, "who would've thought you'd be leaving me so soon!!" She cried harder into her hands! "Stop whining mom." M/n looked up, shocked to be embraced by her daughter. "I'll come back home." She whispered, "I promise." M/n nodded hugging back, "okay...y/n..."

She stopped hugging her first and wiped her tears, "you know, you need at least one friend to travel with you! You can't be alone, a small girl like you! How about one of your friends you train with?" Y/n laughed and helf her stomach, looking up at the ceiling. "Friends?! Are you crazy? I have no friends. They're just people I train with!" M/n held her head in confusion, "no friends? Well that's not good. Don't worry, we'll get you one by tomorrow!"

M/n stood and left her room. Before she walked out the door she turned back, "you'll have your friend my dear." Then she locked behind her.

Y/n fire bumped the air. "What a pain, I don't want a friend! I don't need them, I've been fine on my own for look how many years! My trainers are enough for me." But then she frowned. Y/n held the bed sheet and sighed.

"Before bed that night, I think Fire Lady M/n wrote a letter to all the nations and asked for a friend for y/n as she traveled to do training!" Says Aang, eating on a peach. "Oh really, so is this where you met her?" Katara asked, doing Toph's hair. "Relax, I'm getting there!" Sokka rolled his eyes and started booing. "Boo! Boo! It's probably not even a true story--" "as I was saying!"

Within the letter M/n wrote,

"Avatar y/n is starting her journey to mastering all four elements in two days. We request that you kindly send two of your fine children here to Capital City. They must be from the age 12-15. It doesn't matter if they can bend or not. Avatar Y/n has no one to travel with, so we're requesting a child to become a friend to her. I hope this isn't too much. -Signed Fire Lady M/n."

She folds the scrolls and placed them inside of three hawks each. They flew off into the sky. Fire Lord F/n twisted in his bed and faced his wife, "what're you doing still awake?" "I was fulfilling some duties for our daughter." She got into bed beside him, and F/n grunted.

"What kind of duties?" "It's really none of your concern F/n." He lit his hand and held it close to her face, seeing it filled with tears. "Why are you crying M/n?" She shook her head and got back out of bed, leaving the room. "I just don't feel safe anymore," slamming the door behind her.
