Stop Him!

Lilly

The big hall is very quiet and every pack member is like stone statues kneeling on the floor.

I don't know most of these pack members, but I'm pretty sure most of them know or heard about me. After all, I am the infamous trash of the Black Mist Pack.

None dares to answer the Alpha's threatening inquiry. My heart swells by the fact that he is doing this for me.

"Beta." Alpha Lucas calls him. Beta Peters bows to the alpha but completely ignores me. Not that I mind. I am also nervous when I'm near him. Seeing him bow to my mate gives a strange feeling.

"Alpha." Beta Peters answers Alpha Lucas with his dead down.

"Report to me everything." Alpha Lucas says in a neutral voice and expressionless face. Still, his whole aura is demanding absolute obedience.

"Yes, Alpha." The Beta replies. Although Alpha Lucas is just eighteen years old, he commands respect and obedience from the veteran Beta who used to rule this pack. In truth, the Beta even appears to be nervous.

"Alpha, Ms. Lilliana Elkins is a senior high school student. Two years ago when she was supposed to shift, her wolf failed to emerge. It was later found out that she does not have a wolf. During the lunch period, the son of Gamma Ryan sensed a whole different aura coming from the door of the cafeteria. Our pack is known to be closed from the outsiders, and every pack member is trained to remember each other's auras. Thinking that there was a trespasser in our territory, he took action and captured the trespasser. Later on, he realized that the person in his hands was Ms. Lilliana. Right after that--"

Beta Peters is still talking when Alpha Lucas raises his hand to stop. Immediately, the Beta stops talking.

"Beta Peters." Alpha Lucas takes one of my hands and holds it firmly. Suddenly, I hear a silent but a sharp intake of breath coming from the audience. I am not sure who did it.

Alpha Lucas keeps his gaze to the beta for a few seconds and anyone can tell that Beta Peter's forehead starts sweating like madly.

"This woman on my side is my mate." My mate says in a soft but chilling voice. "Right now, I am doing my best to contain my wolf from having a rampage. But one more nonsensical thing from anyone of you, I, myself, will gladly let him loose."

Alpha Lucas' voice is both soft and low. But the chill on my spine intensifies ten folds. His eyes are turning darker and darker and I know that his wolf is near. Sensing that it will be a great disaster if that happens, I hold his hand tighter and rub my thumb on his hand. Alpha Lucas' hand visibly trembles for a fraction of a second before he squeezes my hand tighter.

"Continue." Alpha Lucas is visibly more relaxed than earlier. He still wears his expressionless face with murderous eyes, but the killing aura he emits is visibly less.

"Alpha, forgive me." Beta Lucas says as he kneels on the floor. Then, he puts his hand over his chest as he faces my mate.

"We found that Ms. Lilliana was wolf-less two years ago. Our pack takes pride from being the strongest. In our pack, being strong takes precedence over anything else. Our members are required to undertake rigorous training in order to have enough strength to be properly considered members of our pack. It was the very first time for someone who was born from our pack to become wolf-less."

"I was very disappointed and dissatisfied. I wanted to kick her out of the pack, but she was too much involved already. We can not risk sending her out because our enemies might take her and extract information from her." Beta says continuously but with conviction. His eyes never sways away from the Alpha's eyes.
