Contacting the Other Alphas

Lucas

Ahem.

An annoying cough is intentionally released by my annoying beta. I place Lilly on her bed and is about to place a kiss on her face when this annoying piece of a wool decides to interrupt my loving session with my mate. This punk is starting to be cocky. Surely, it is not my fault that I am enthralled by my mate's beauty?

"Sorry, Alpha. But we already spent half an hour here. And you have three pending phone calls from the neighboring alphas. Also, the pack warriors are already assembled in the field." The son of the ferret says.

Was it really half an hour already?

I stand up and carefully pat my shirt which is sporting some lovely folds from the weight of my mate. After that, I stare at Tristan so that he can lead me to where I am supposed to go.

He momentarily blank as he stares back at me. Is he confused as to why I am staring at him? Thankfully, he rapidly realizes it and tells me that he'll lead the way to the study. Apparently, that is where I am to receive the call for the other alphas.

I glance at my mate who is peacefully sleeping before following Tristan. She passed out because she used all of the energy from her body to extinguish the back magic holding the young brown wolf. That move was too much for her, I probably shouldn't have allowed her to do it. But how could I possibly stop her, when she poured all her heart into healing that wolf? I inwardly sigh at how soft my mate's heart is.

We pass by the kitchen on our way to the study. This kitchen is big, it can occupy several pack members at the same time. The fridge is also big, it can house weeks long of food. I was even pleasantly surprised when I saw the fridge's content earlier in the morning.

I remember that Lilly has not eaten since breakfast so I walk to the direction of the fridge. Tristan stops his tracks for a while before following me.

I open the door of the fridge and find several chocolate jelly on the top side corner. Without thinking about it, I take three containers out. This jelly is great for desserts. After that, I find some fresh chicken and take them out. I also grab some fresh apple juice and put them on the counter next to the chicken and the jelly. Then, I look at Tristan.

Tristan gulps and is momentarily stunned.

"Uhm, Alpha. Do you want me to get someone to prepare the food?" He nervously asks me.

I look at him in approval.

A few seconds have passed when Tristan asks me again. "Is this food for the Luna?"

I nod at him in agreement. I am liking him more and more.

"Then.. I will arrange it." He is in daze so I assume that he is mind-linking someone to prepare Lilly's food. I notice how his eyes are still sharp and in focus on its surroundings while doing a mind-link.I nod in approval.

Both his will and wolf are strong. He is more powerful than his father, and more powerful than most of the other alphas.

I take two containers of the jelly and start my way to the study. Tristan pauses for a while before getting utensils and following me.

When we arrive at the study, Peters is sitting on one of the chairs with a phone that is pressed on his ears. He looks at us and stands up. I sit on the alpha's chair and Peters says something on the phone before passing it to me. I nod at him as thanks.

"Hello, Lucas Cox speaking." I murmur on the phone.

"Alpha Lucas, it's great to hear you are back. This is Brandon Shaw." I hear on the other side of the phone.
