I was barely settled at the reception room in the hospital when Aden walked in and smiled once he noted my presence.

"You look better already," he said sitting next to me. Leo had walked off to find a nurse or something while Ryan had received a call and excused himself before Aden walked in.

"Thank you." I sent him a sharp look which only made him laugh ever so lively that my heart jerked as I watched him.

What was happening to me?

"I'm glad you took that wrong turn." He said a bit too quietly and my eyes snapped to his.

Avoiding my gaze, he sighed then stood up. "Guess I will be driving you home after the treatment,"a small smile graced his lips and vanished almost immediately. "Lemme get someone to tend to you first." He told then stalked off towards the other side since no one was at the reception desk.

I sat quietly watching the white walls till I started feeling more sick. Initially my foot didn't hurt as much but when the pungent smell of medication and other stuff swirled in the air around me, the ache got worse.

Trying to feel better about my surrounding, I slowly brought my mind back to how I got here.

I couldn't believe that the ache was still there when I thought about Dave or that it was only two days now that I was away from my place.

Mr. Pavel would have freaked out if I were to report to work today but luckily, that cup of worry was off of me.

I slipped through my pocket to reach for my phone then I realized I didn't grab it from the nightstand at the cabin.

Sighing, I closed my eyes. At least I could afford another one and it wasn't like I had any contacts to worry about.

When Aden was back, a small fragile looking blonde came trailing behind him with a nurse's uniform.

"Hello?" She spoke quietly and I nodded my response. Somehow the recollection of the much I had gone through had impaired my wish to talk. "I will just clean your toe and bandage it. Then I will prescribe some painkillers to you and you'll be fine."

She spoke more confidently this time and I smiled down at her as she bent to examine my toe. Just then I realized how ugly it looked and I looked away.

Aden took the seat next to mine and took my hand in his. The unexpected gesture somehow made me want to flinch away but the comfort that spread through me settled my thoughts.

"Where's Leo and Ryan?" I asked as the nurse dipped a piece if cotton into some liquid before she brought it to my toe.

I watched her absently until the sting hit and a string of profanities left my mouth and I jerked back. Aden could not hide his amusement as he laughed his head off and the nurse gave me an apologetic look.

"Stop laughing!" I chided as I resettled my foot back on the cushion she'd brought with her.

Squeezing my hand, he chuckled a little bit more then stopped. "You're such a girl." Two glares made him gulp in stead of laugh and I found myself chuckling.
