It was one week after Serena and Elaine had challenged Ilima at Viridian City. Even though they didn't triumph, they got another chance at the Alola region. Moreover, two girls will be teaming up to face a other Trial Captains, which was pleasant.

Both Ash and Gary had trained extra hard in one week. All of that training had worn them out and made them sleep even later than normal. Despite they are in the same town, they really don't see each other while training. They don't want to reveal their tactics and should be kept secret until the Indigo League.

Ash has trained every one of his Pokémon, including Dratini which has grown interest in battle. His Krabby, Meltan and Muk has became much sharper then man before. Hitmonlee also didn't have so many battles during the journey, but it has been training by itself while staying in ranch. Tauros has been head butting a large stone to make its head, rock hard. Haunter was the only Pokémon who hasn't trained a lot, but proved to be a powerhouse when it wants to be. Other Ash's Pokémon were eager to win for Ash, especially Charizard. It still never won against Cross' Incineroar. Indigo League might be the only chance it has.

Togepi was currently residing in Gabena's resident. Everyone was bit worried about leaving a baby Pokémon to Ash and Pikachu.

However, today is not going to be a training day. He and others were invited by Professor Oak for small trip to Vermillion City. They don't know what was that for, but few people volunteered to join: with that being Ash, Serena and Leaf.

The others decided to stay in Pallet Town for training. Gary of course will participate in Indigo League. Misty will have a Whirl Cup tournament at her hometown, Cerulean City. Whereas Brock will have Pokémon Breeding contest at Pewter City. Elaine decided to train harder for her upcoming Battle Tree at Alola.

"Ding ding ding!" the sounds of alarm blasted in Ash's room.

Pikachu woke up in a sudden sound and tried to wake up Ash.

"Pika," it murmured as it shook Ash.

However, Ash was still asleep...kinda. He rose his hand to grab alarm clock to stop ringing. He touched so many stuff with his hand while resting his face on pillow. Finally, he touched Pikachu's head and...BANG!

He slapped the yellow rodent's head which Pikachu cried in small tear as it held its head. Pikachu was now angry. It blasted a Thundershock attack and engulfed Ash. Ash was of course cried in pain for a moment, but went back to sleep.

"Chu," Pikachu sighed in disappointment.

Then suddenly, Delia walked in to the room. "Ash, wake up."

Delia then walked up to Ash and held his face. "Ash! Time to wake up! You made a promise with Professor Oak, didn't you?"

"Promise..." Ash said while asleep, then he woke up. "Wait? What promise?"

There was a moment if silence.

"AAAAHHHHHHH! Why didn't you wake me up!?" Ash panicked.

"You told me that you would wake up by yourself," Delia sighed.

Few seconds later, Ash and Pikachu got out of the Ketchum resident. There was no time for brushing the teeth and there was no time for breakfast, which was his favorite thing. Ash and Pikachu sped up to the Oak lab, while the other kids were going to school. Few meters away, Rose Green was accompanying her student on the road. She noticed Ash running and waved at him.
