DO YOU WANT TO GO TO THE YULE BALL WITH ME?

NATASHA STROLLED THROUGH THE SCHOOL corridors one afternoon, she had just escaped the Hufflepuff meeting about The Yule Ball; which apparently is the usual tradition of the Triwizard Tournament. She knew that this meant one thing and one thing only; over the next upcoming weeks, girls would be gossiping about who they wanted to take them to the dance and Natasha could not be bothered with that at all. Maybe because she was curious (and slightly nervous) about who would ask her (if anyone actually did ask her) or maybe because she was jealous that all the girls gushing over a certain grey eyed boy would now get a new surge of confidence and ask him and there was no way he would even look in her direction with all the other girls falling over him.

As the blonde rounded a corner, she suddenly bumped into a oncoming figure. Stumbling over her apologies, she looked up to spot a familiar face, "Well, hello there," She grinned, her eyes sparkling with amusement, "We have to stop meeting like this."

Cedric chuckled, his eyes softening as he recognised the person he just crashed into, "We really do," He grinned, reaching up to scratch the back of his neck as his eyes finally tore themselves from the blonde, "I'm...erm..I'm actually quite glad I bumped into you..."

Natasha tried to hide the surprised look from her face, "Oh, really?" Her heart hammered violently against her ribcage. Was he going to ask her to the dance?

Cedric let out a shaky breath, "Y-Yeah... Do you want to go to the kitchens?"

Natasha felt a pang in her chest but quickly brushed it off. Of course he wasn't going to ask her to the dance, how stupid could she possibly be? Realising she hasn't said anything in a while she finally cleared her throat, "Ri-Right now? I'm not that hungry," She told him. She had been hungry a few moments ago but now she just felt sick.

Cedric looked taken aback, "Oh," He mumbled, trying to hide the disappointment off his face, "A-Another time?" He suggested, a glimmer of hope flashing through his eyes.

Nat's throat felt tight, "Erm--Erm, yeah, maybe," She mumbled, "I-I've got to go," She quickly added and before Cedric even had a moment to register, the blonde girl had already walked off in the opposite direction. She had never felt so bothered by a boy before, so why on earth was she starting to know?

Cedric stood there, as stiff as a board, his eyes focused on Natasha's retreating figure. He couldn't help but kick himself at ho stupid he was. He should've asked her there and then if she wanted to be his date to the Yule Ball. Why in Merlin's name did he have to fuck it up so badly? With a devastated look on his face, Cedric finally began to walk down the corridor, heading straight towards the kitchens where he could eat his feelings.

Natasha entered the Great Hall with the sad look still in her eyes before she quickly stopped herself. She wasn't going to let some boy make her feel this way, not even one that was so attractive, kind, caring, smart--

She shook her head as if getting rid of those thoughts. With a determined look on her face, the blonde looked out at the sea of students in the Hall and when her eyes landed on a certain ginger haired boy she rushed in his direction.

As George Weasley spoke to his twin, Fred suddenly elbowed his side, his eyes wide as he looked at something behind them. With a puzzled look on his face, George turned around, his eyes almost bulging right out of his skull at the sight of Natasha Fields walking straight towards him, her head held high.

He was sure that she would walk past him, but when she stopped right in front of him he couldn't help but gawk at her.

"George," She greeted him before her eyes fell upon Fred (who's eyes were nearly as big as George's), "Fred," She nodded.

Fred lifted his hand up and sent her a small wave, not daring to say anything.

"I just came here to ask you something," Nat informed George, looking back at him with a friendly smile on her face.

"O-Okay," He stuttered before clearing his throat and repeating the word more clearly that time.

"Do you want to go to the Yule Ball with me?"

"Holy shit, yes!"
