She was gorgeous.

He really hated to see her cry. He didn't asked why she was crying but he can guess it's something related to her mother by what he caught from her expression.

Mother's were always a different story. His mother was definitely a one.
Her husband was no less than god to her, even when he didn't gave her the love and respect she deserves.

Aaron's father was engrossed in making money and couldn't afford to give time to his family and his wife. And Mrs Meera was too shy, to modest to correct him. Let alone make him. Mr. Rathore fulfilled his responsibilities by giving them expensive things and luxuries and he hadn't felt the need to do more.

It was the thing with money. We need it to survive but it didn't satisfy you.
As they say 'you can buy a expensive cozy bed from money, but can't buy a peaceful sleep'. That happened with Aaron's family, they had everything, but not the bond, the love. For his father, it actually didn't matter, for him everything comes down to a business, a competition.

Aaron saw his father ignoring his wife, beating his wife when he was frustated and treat her worst than dirt. At his ripe childhood he couldn't do anything to save his mother from his father's wrath. It resulted in growing hatred towards his father and also towards society.

The society which forced his mother to think that what was happening with her was 'normal', Can you imagine the shock of a twelve year old, when he asked his mother to left his father, because he was monster, and her mother reprimanded him for even saying it. Her husband was god to her, as said in Hindu marriages.

He realised that this dicrimation ran too deep into the roots to thrown off. He just decided to not to be like his father. He escaped to NY for a new start, to his uncle, and saw a vary different culture from India. And obviously his heart settled in there. He has liberty to do whatever his heart desired and he did.

Everything was okay, until this marriage in Aaron's life. He thought that he got out of clutches of his father, but boy he was wrong. If it was only for company he could might have said no, but his father threatened him that if he could not do it, that he didn't hesitate to let Arav complete the task.

Yes, Mr. Rathore was that businessman.

Many hidden emotions got hold of him when he saw her cry today. But the most primal need was to comfort her.

He had wished that his wife has to be confident, independent and most importantly who know how to step up for herself.

But Mia wasn't any of that. He was not frustated like he thought he would be. He realised that all of his thoughts were just theories. Every other girl in NY was what he wished but he hadn't fall for them, he fell for rather a shy, Indian beauty.

And that was a surprise for him too.

A good surprise, indeed!

It's like, his heart had always knew that he would want it. Someone to cherish, to love, to comfort, when he himself didn't realised that. The feeling was for more deep to call crush or infatuation, but it was there.

He couldn't deny it.

He couldn't deny that he didn't want this moment to end, where she fall asleep in his arms while watching a rom-comedy.

Aaron smoothed her hair and bend down and steal a quick kiss from her. He was dying to do that. A content sigh released from her lips and Aaron smiled.

So adorable.

Aaron stood up carefully and switched off the movie. He could easily settle Mia in her room but he just didn't want to. He want to spend some more time with her. He fetched a blanket and covered Mia with it. And sat back on the couch with her head in his lap. He felt like such a creep. He traced all her features from his fingers and Mia stirred slightly under them and scrunched her nose in annoyance. He chuckled but let her sleep in peace.

He laid back on the couch and closed his eyes. He wanted to claim her but that's not so easy as it sounds, when the other wanted nothing more than to shut them off from the world.

This was going to be a long year!

Mia snuggled against the warmth.

When she. conjured the fog in her mind, she realised her legs was entwined with someone's and her whole body was pressed against someone back to chest, and she could feel the hard contours of the muscles underneath and a muscular arm draped around her middle holding her close to the warmth. She could also feel the hot breath on her neck, sending small shivers down her back.

Instead of relaxing into the warmth, her heartbeat increased and a little scream left her mouth as she hurriedly tried to detangle herself from the mess.

And just when the arm loosened a little she jumped out of it and landed with a thud on the floor.

'Ow'

She heard a curse, and craned her neck to came face to face with a half asleep Aaron. Her breath hitched when he took in his form in his sexy ruffled morning hair, turned her legs to jelly.

Thanks heaven she was already on the floor.

"Um, Good morning" she stated dumbly and mentally face palmed.

Aaron opened his sexy blue eyes and took in her and a small frown adored his smooth features. A ray of sunlight fall on his half face though the windows, just embling his natural glow. He just looked perfect.

"What are you doing on the floor?" He asked in his morning sexy voice which messed with her senses.

"Uh, n-nothing" She replied and stood up hastily. A thousand needles pricked her legs and her whole body ached and she momentarily lost her balance only to grab the back of the couch to support her.

Aaron sat up on the couch and she sat beside him to gain the sensation in her legs back. Though the couch was larger than normal couches, it was still small to fit the two of them in and now they couldn't complain.

"Are you okay?" She heard so much concern in his voice that it shocked her.

"Yeah, just my legs were numb".

"Hmm,sorry,I was so tired to carry us both to our rooms."

"Why didn't you woke me up?"

"You were sleeping like a baby, I didn't want to." He said easily without missing a beat.

If she had been drinking water, she would have sputtered it.

"Okay?"

"It wasn't that bad, is it?" Aaron stood up and smoothed his t-shirt and his eyes twinkled with little mischief.

She just gaped at him and then slightly shook her head, looking down.

"Good" she heard him say and then two fingers lifted her chin and warm lips pressed against her forehead, and then they were gone and so was Aaron.

Only her accelerated heartbeat and the warmth in her cheeks was the proof that she didn't dreamed it.

What a start of the day, Mia thought.
