Hey everyone! I thought Soap By Melanie Martinez was Hero's theme song (:
____________________________________"Hey, are you okay?" Josephine asked with worry in her eyes.
I shook my head. "No... I'm feeling a little dizzy..."
Josephine put both her hands on either side of my face.
"You're not looking so well. We need to find you somewhere to lie down or at least to puke."
As we both strained our necks to try to find a way through what felt like millions of students, Hero materialized out of the crowd, holding a lit cigarette. He made his way towards us zeroing in on Josephine.
"What are you doing here?" He demanded, blowing smoke right in her face.
Josephine did her best to clear the air, but she spluttered uncontrollably.
"I'm here to be with my friend." She managed to choke out.
For a moment, Hero drew his attention to me, immediately scoffing in response.
"Of course you two would become friends."
He took the cigarette out of his mouth and looked at the end as if he didn't like it. He then flicked it to the ground, smashing it. His eyes narrowed, backing Josephine into a corner.
"You do realize this is my party. I could kick you on your ass."
Josephine looked like she was going to back down, but as if on a random spurt of courage, she puffed out her chest and began shouting:
"N-no!" She stuttered. "You don't get to tell me what to do anymore! I'm my own person! Besides, I was invited here!"
Hero rushed towards her, slamming both his fists down on the drywall above Josephine's head. "I want you the fuck out!" He screamed.
His screaming made my head pound like a drum and I pressed down on my temples. I felt myself begin to sway on the spot, unable to hold myself upright. If I didn't find a place to rest soon, I would faint.
Out of nowhere, Hero directed his anger towards me. He approached, observing my state like I was some interesting science experiment.
"What's wrong with you?" he demanded as if he didn't know. "Hello? Are you retarded?"
Josephine glowered, looking annoyed with Hero's behavior, yet she kept her distance. "She's drunk, she's not stupid!"
I expected her response to elicit some form of outburst from him, but instead, he began chuckling like some deranged psycho.
"Well, well," he tutted, "I guess you're not as pure as you think."
Swiveling around, Hero spotted a group passing around a large bottle of brandy and ran over, swiping the bottle. He threw his head back, quickly draining half the bottle. Josephine took this as an opportunity to escape. As she led me up a steep incline, she stared back at her mess of a cousin.
"This is why I didn't want to come, you know," she said, "I knew he'd be here."
I, however, didn't find the need to respond. I didn't find the need to do much of anything. I put my faith into the hope that Josephine was leading me where I needed to be and that was all I needed to worry about. It wasn't long before a shining white light flooded my vision. I was able to see that it was a sterile bathroom.
"I guess this is the best we'll get," Josephine said. "Go ahead and take your time. I'm heading down to find some water."
As soon as Josephine slammed the door, I slowly made my way over to what I guessed what the toilet. I sank to my knees, waiting for bile to rise up to my throat, but it didn't happen. I proceeded to wait for another minute or two before I made my way over to the sink, splashing water on my face.
I knew the smart thing to do was to stay by the toilet just in case I puked, but I wasn't smart at all under the influence. I was anything but. When my head hurt and I felt like fainting I wasn't thinking about doing the right thing. I was thinking about doing what made me feel comfortable. Instead, I headed towards the bathroom door, making my way down a dark hall.
After searching for Josephine for a mere three seconds, I gave in, opening the nearest door, not caring where I ended up. I didn't see much of the dark room, though once I fell back on the plush bed, I immediately felt content. My eyelids drew heavily, giving in to my exhaustion.
Unfortunately, my sleep didn't last long. The bedroom door cracked open, blinding me with yellow light from the hall. I squinted trying to decipher who it was. I was still feeling drowsy, but I knew it was Josephine with water.
She'd found me at last."Jo?" I mumbled, though I wasn't sure she was able to understand the slurring in my voice.
She shut the door, heading straight for the bed. It wasn't until she spoke that I knew it wasn't Josephine at all. A pair of strong hands smoothed up my thighs, then trapped both my hands above my head. I felt my cheeks heat, wanting to jump and run from the room, but I found myself immobile.
"Oh baby," A man's voice spoke, "are you wet for me?"
I shook as I felt the man's mouth slowly travel up the expanse of my thighs, lifting my skirt as high as it would go, then running across my abdomen and stopping at my breasts.
"You have such large breasts," He spoke, "You really want me to make you feel good?"
As the man's face lowered, I knew I was in too deep. He was going to de-flower me and there wasn't much I could do to stop it. I couldn't believe that things had come to this. My parents were going to kill me when they found out when I called them in the morning. They were going to drive up to the university and pull me out. They were going to shun me forever. They were going to-
I suddenly became sober as the bedroom light flicked on. Breathing heavily, I stared up into the eyes of Hero, who was staring back at me, wide-eyed. We stood frozen in the same place for what felt like forever until a shrill voice tore through the air.
"What the hell is going on?"
