Hina managed to squint her eyes open. Her first instinct was to sit up but got restrained by the pain from her chest. She was half-asleep but could hear a faint voice behind the curtains that covered her bed.
"Shota, please. Panicking won't do anything. I'm coming down as soon as I can. Hina is still sleeping and her siblings are close. When they get here, I'll make my way towards you. Now, get back to the students. I'll see you in a minute. Love you."
"Mic?" Hina groaned as she tried to sit up again, managing to get Hizashi's attention. He rushed to open the curtains and saw her struggling. He helped her sit up, worry on his face. "Hey there, hun. How you feeling?" She squinted her eyes. "Tired but not sleep-tired. More exhausted-tired. But I'm fine overall. What time is it?" Hizashi sat on the chair next to her bed. "It's 9:30. Listen, your brothers and sister are gonna be here any second and I just got a call." Hina's eyes widened slightly more. "Yeah, I kinda heard. Is everything okay?" Hizashi froze for a second, remembering what he had been told happened at the camp. "Yeah. Aizawa just needs some help at the camp. I'll wait for your siblings to get here then I'll have to go for the night, ok?" Hina could tell that the situation was more important than he was letting on. But she figured that now wasn't the time to pry. "Ok. I think you need to tell a doctor that I'm awake." Hizashi stood up, stroked her head and walked out of the room.
Hina sighed and slowly reached onto the side table, next to her, and grabbed her phone. She checked her notifications to find nothing. "He said he would message me after dinner." She put her phone back down and Kazuya entered the room. "Hey there. You feeling good?" He asked, checking her vitals. "Yeah, just tired. And hungry." Kazuya chuckled. "So, that's good. The normal symptoms for this kind of procedure. We'll have food brought out to you in a minute. Also, I believe that you have a few visitors." He said, looking towards the door. A little boy darted his way towards the bed, halting as he reached it. "Katsu, hi!" He exclaimed. She weakly smiled. "Hey Kumo. You're weirdly energetic." Two others entered the room. "Nah, that's his normal energy. You just can't handle it right now." Ibuki replied, smug smile on her face. "Yeah, shush." Katsu waved her off, jokingly as she leans in to hug her. "How did it go?" Takashi asked, sitting at the end of the bed.
Kazuya turned around whilst writing on his notepad. "Well, I can answer that. The procedure went rather well. Her body has reacted well to the monitor and I wouldn't be surprised if she adapts to it quicker than expected. I'll leave you guys to talking." He smiled as he left. Katsu looked down at Kumo who was holding a gift bag. "What you got there?" She asked. He placed the bag on the bed and slid it towards her, as far as he could. He then climbed onto the bed and sat, legs crossed. "We made you a 'Get Well Soon' card and some of your favourite snacks." She peeked into the bag and pulled out the card. She opened it to find a drawing of her, standing on their dad, who is wrapped up in vines on the floor, as her siblings cheer for her. She laughed at the drawing. "This is an amazing piece of art. I'm actually gonna frame this." She then read the card.
"To Katsu,
Get Well Soon!! Hope you get better quickly so we can play more.
Love, Kumo, Ibuki, Takashi and Ryu."
The rest of the card was covered in hearts, stars and daisies. She held to her chest. "Thanks guys. This is really cute. And actually, now that you mention the dragon, where is Ryu? Hero work?" Ibuki and Takashi looked at each other, clearly knowing something that Katsu didn't. "Yeah. He's coming in the morning. Also there's a good chance you'll have a sleeping buddy today." Takashi said, directing her to Kumo who was sitting there, smiling widely. "I get it if you can't but I don't want you to be lonely." She chuckled and shuffled to the left side of the bed, patting the empty space for him to sit. He, excitedly jumped into that space and hugged her. "We're staying in a room at the hotel, down the road. Kumo, you should get changed if you're gonna sleep here." Ibuki said, handing the boy his backpack. He jumped out of the bed, grabbed his bag and ran to the bathroom. "It's getting late. If you need anything, I doubt I'll get any sleep sharing a room with this insomniac." Takashi gestured towards Ibuki, earning him a punch in the stomach. "Shut up. I'm not an insomniac. I can sleep when I want. I'm just, what some call, a 'night owl'." She explained. Katsu laughed at the interaction. "Ok. I'll see you guys tomorrow." Katsu smiled and waved as they walked out of the room.
As they shut the door, they both let out a sigh. "She's gonna find out." Ibuki said as she started walking down the corridor. "I know. But she literally just had surgery. A big one at that. Let's tell her tomorrow." Takashi replied as they made their way into an elevator, pressing the bottom floor button. Ibuki leaned her head on Takashi. "She will break down. It won't be pretty." She said. "Yeah. The shit will hit the fan." He sighed. "That's why we gotta be there for her when she finds out. Also be there so she doesn't try to escape and find him herself." The elevator door opened and they walked towards the exit. "Yeah, that too."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The Next Morning~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Katsu was walking, slowly, through the hospital with Kumo trotting by her side and her IV drip in her grasp. They walked down, Kumo talking about his school, Katsu about the pro heroes in UA. As they walked past an open door, Katsu heard similar voices. "Hina?" She turned her head towards the voice and found the majority of 1-A in the room. Mina walked up to her. "Hey. How did your surgery go?" She asked, trying to put on a smile. "It went well. Just doing a bit of exercise with this little guy. This is my brother, Kumo" Mina looked below her to find him, holding onto Katsu's leg. "Hey there, Kumo. Taking care of your sister?" He looked up at Mina and nodded. smiling sweetly. "Why are you guys here? Did someone get hurt?" She walked into the room and saw Midoriya on the bed, arms wrapped in casts. "What did you do now? Your summer training just started." The class stood, silent. Kirishima walked up to Katsu. "Hina, you should sit." He walked her over to an empty seat in the room. "You guys are scaring me. What's going on?" She sat down, Kumo sitting on the floor next to her, looking at the students in awe.
"The camp was attacked last night. By the League of Villains." Hina's eyes widened. "So that's what they were planning. Shit." She sat there, wondering why everyone looked so distressed. "What happened? Everyone's okay, right?" Kirishima turned away from her. "What? What's wrong?" Her voice sounded more desperate. Kirishima bent down and put his hand on hers. "Hina, they got Bakugou." The room was deadly silent. Hina breathed out a small laugh. "That's funny. It sounded like you said the League of Villains took Bakugou." She could tell by their faces that he was telling the truth. Her laugh faded away into shock. "No. No, this isn't..." She threw her head into her hands and sat there. "Bakugou. I-I-" She couldn't form sentences. Kumo got up and leaned on her legs. "Katsu? You ok?" She stood up, to everyone's surprise. She grabbed her IV drip and made her way out the room.
"Hina, wait." The class called out for her, concerned by her reaction. To most of the class's surprise, Shoji spoke up. "Hina, we understand your relationship with Bakugou. You have every right to react however you want." Hina stayed turned around at the door. "I can't have anything in this life. Why is everything taken from me?" She walked out of the room, brother staying put behind her. "Katsu, wait!" He yelled, to no prevail. Midoriya laid there, feeling helpless. Uraraka approached Kumo. "Hey. This is a lot for your sister to take in. Her friend, Bakugou, is in trouble. We can find out what room she's in but for now, I think it's best to give her some space." Kumo looked nervous but nodded. "Bakugou? The guy she loves?" All the heads in the room turned to him. "L-Loves?" Kaminari asked. Kumo nodded. "Uh-huh. Katsu said last night. She said 'it sucks to have to wait for the guy you love to message you'. She also told me, when I grow up, to message the person I love as soon as I can." Kirishima felt a pit in his stomach. "If only she knew."
