Chapter 54: Mid-Autumn Festival Mini Extra

Today was the Mid-Autumn Festival but the third year middle schoolers didn't have the day off.

Jungkook sat in the classroom waiting for the last class to hurry up and end. Even though today wasn't a school holiday, school was going to end early because there were only two classes scheduled for the afternoon.

The last period was the homeroom teacher's mathematics class. After teaching for half the period, she asked the class president and academic chair to go to her office and bring back the mooncakes that she had bought earlier that day.

These mooncakes had been purchased with everyone's class fees so there was one for each person.

As the academic chair, Lisa happily followed the class president out when she heard that it was time to bring over the mooncakes.

The class president rubbed her eyes when she saw how happy Lisa was, "Does one little mooncake really make you that happy?"

"Of course!" Lisa's eyes sparkled. "Teacher Heo said that she tried a hundred mooncakes before choosing the best one!"

Class president, "..."

Only you would believe that.

The mooncakes were arranged tidily on top of Teacher Heo's desk. While the class president walked over and picked up a box, Lisa simply stood next to the mooncakes and stared at them for a long time without moving.

The class president couldn't help but ask, "What are you looking at?"

Lisa responded, "I'm checking to see which ones are bigger so that I can save two."

After a moment of speechlessness, the class president reminded her, "Each person only gets one."

"One's for Jungkook."

Class president, "..."

I didn't realize that you two were on such good terms.

Truthfully, it wasn't like that at all.

Jungkook probably wouldn't be able to eat much of his own mooncake since Lisa was going to steal a portion of his.

When Lisa and the class president returned to the classroom and began passing out the mooncakes, she walked up to Jungkook and whispered, "These two are the biggest mooncakes. I checked them carefully."

Jungkook, "..."

The dismissal bell was going to ring shortly after the mooncakes were distributed so Teacher Heo stopped teaching and let everyone eat mooncakes.

The mooncakes were filled with spicy beef. After quickly finishing her own, Lisa stared pointedly at Jungkook.

Jungkook, "..."

He was used to feeding this desk-mate of his so he picked up his untouched mooncake and broke it into two pieces.

The pieces he broke off weren't actually even. One half was bigger and the other was smaller. He responsibly handed Lisa the bigger half, which she received with delight. Jungkook couldn't help but poke fun at her, "Aren't you scared that eating this much will make you fatter?"

Lisa gracefully rolled her eyes at him, "It's just half a mooncake. How much fatter could it make me?"

...No, before the mooncake you already ate a bag of potato chips, half a bag of ladyfingers, and half a bag of crispy noodles.

Jungkook turned his head away and silently nibbled on his remaining piece of mooncake. Mmm, the beef was prepared very well and the crust was extremely flaky. It tasted pretty good.

He couldn't help but sigh, "Ay, I don't think I'd even treat my future wife this nicely."

Lisa was too busy eating happily to hear him clearly. She joked casually, "Wife? Your grades are so awful. You won't be able to find a wife."

Jungkook, "..."

Return his future wife's piece of mooncake!

It wasn't until many years later that Jungkook realized that he had already given that piece of mooncake to his future wife.
