Sasha and I make out way into Connies room where he's staying in the Trost HQ. We knock on the door and he gives us permission to come in.
"Hey," he jumps up from the bed and takes me in his arms. "Thank God you're okay, Sophie!"
"Easy there," I laugh and rub his back lovingly. "Don't try to give me another concussion."
"I said I was sorry about that!" Connie pulls away and frowns.
"I know I know," I laugh. "I'm kidding. I'm happy you managed to get back in decent shape."
Connie sits down on the bed and holds his knees with his hands. He lets his face fall into something more sad.
"I'm sorry," I kneel down in front of him. "Their betrayal hit me hard too."
"Well you should be more upset because of your mom..."
"No you have every right too," I reach up and pat his head. "They were our friends."
The room goes quiet but I can hear the loud munching of Sasha sitting at the desk and eating her food. I turn to her and smile warmly. I'm glad these two never change. It's always comforting to be around them.
"So if you guys are feeling up to it," Connie stands abruptly. "We should head into town and watch the street performance and eat tons of food! How does that sound?"
"I think the food part sounds amazing!" Sasha grins with crumbs around her mouth.
"Sophie?" Connie looks at me to see my opinion.
"Yeah I think it sounds fun," I nod. "Get a little break. But don't we have to get permission?"
"Just ask Captain Levi, he seems to like you more than the rest of us," Sasha shrugs.
"You do realize he beat the crap out of Eren and I at our trial hearing," I laugh.
"Yeah but since then he treats you better than most people," Connie smiles at me. "He liiikes you."
"It's not like that!" I hit his shoulder. "He just looks out for me."
"Hmm, I'm with Sophie. I think he is like another older brother to her," Sasha slides off the desk and plants her feet on the ground. "Well who wants to get food?!"
"I do!" Connie jumps up and swings his arm around my neck. "Let's go see if anyone else wants to come."
"Wait," I place my hand on connies. "Levi is seeing Commander Erwin, so we'll have to ask someone else."
"Moblit has been hanging around the area, maybe he can give us permission to leave." Connie suggests.
"Okay, you guys go round up anyone else who wants to come and I'll go find Moblit. Meet you guys in the dining hall." I walk out the door and head down the hallway to where the squad commanders have their rooms and offices.
I knock on Hange's door to her office, figuring Moblit would be in there with her. She mutters a quick 'come in' and I open the wood door.
Hange lays on her back on the ground, surrounded by papers. She sees that it's me and jumps up abruptly, holding me by the shoulders with her face an inch away from mine.
"Sophie!" She smiles. "Oh how I've missed you! Did you transform when I wasn't there? Did you? Did you?"
"I could never," I shake my head with a smile. "I only shift when I know you're there to see me."
"Oh bless your heart," Hange pulls me into a hug. "So what brings you here?"
"Well a few of the 104th cadets want to go into Trost and wonder around. Do you think that is possible?"
