oh and i'm afraid that's just the way the world works
it ain't funny, it ain't pretty, it ain't sweet
oh and i'm afraid that's just the way the world works
but i think that it could work for you and me

when miya atsumu was about 10 years old his mother left taking his twin with her.

it was confusing at the time but atsumu is well aware of why they left now.

his father was a mean drunk who couldn't sober up to save his life.

when atsumu's mother was at home it was nowhere near as worse.

the faux blonde wondered if it ever got like this while his mother was home but if it did he couldn't remember.

he hadn't been in touch with his brother ever since he left.

it's been about 7 years since then, making the twins 17.

"a training camp in tokyo? why so far?" atsumu asked the captain of his volleyball team, kita.

"i'm not sure, but it'll be a good opportunity for us," the bi-colored haired male answered.

"hey tsumu do you want to come over to my house tonight? my mom can give us a ride tomorrow to the bus," suna said as he and atsumu walked home.

"i cant tonight, but i'll see you tomorrow," the faux blonde smiled as he turned the corner to his house.

suna rintarou has been his best friend since fourth grade. since osamu left.

originally osamu and suna were close but when he left that all changed.

when atsumu walked into his house he could smell the reek of alcohol.

he tried to quietly walk to his room but it was all in vain.

"hey.." a slurred voice called. "atsumu.."

"yes dad?" atsumu asked gritting his teeth slightly.

"come here."

"what's up?" atsumu asked putting on a smile as he faced his father.

"go.. go get me a pack of beers."

"from the store?"

"yeah."

"i cant."

"what the fuck do ya mean ya cant?"

"i'm underage."

"just go ya little shit."

"i cant"

atsumu was met with a harsh slap to the face.

"GO" his father shouted.

atsumu ran out of the house. as he walked to the convenience store he knew nothing good was going to come from him coming home empty handed.
