As Zelda began her walk home, she couldn't help but smile as she pulled the leather tighter to her body. Her initial intentions with Mary were anything but pure, and Zelda was glad she had made the decision to travel to Mary; rather liking the idea of having a friend. She was comfortable with Mary,
they had shared two good bottles of wine and got wrapped into pretty good conversations; not just small talking nonsense.
Zelda wasn't sure what kind of plan Mary or rather, Lilith, had in mind to get Sabrina to sign the book, but Zelda wanted more than anything for her rule bending niece to sign.

Mary had used the mirror in her living room to watch Zelda walk home, she wanted to ensure her safety.  Zelda had declined all her offers to drive her home preferring to walk, much to Mary's disapproval. She felt this weird pull to protect Zelda, keep her near her at all times; it had been centuries since Lilith had last had a caring friend and she wanted to hold on for dear life. Besides that she, in part, felt rather guilty for not revealing her full intentions to Zelda. By recruiting the witch she was saving her own hide, but never considered the safety of Zelda's.

As Mary continued to watch Zelda, she couldn't help but feel like she was invading the woman's privacy. However, the small smile on Zelda's face, and the skip in her walk as she strolled through the woods, made Mary weirdly happy; a feeling she hadn't felt in 100's of years. As long as she was safe and happy, Mary would be able to live with the little lie she had told. Seeing as her walk home posed no threat, saw she decided to head back to the kitchen, in search of more wine.

Zelda was more than content to have a confidant. Her night with Mary had been the best she had had in a few years; although they started out rough, it turned out they had more in common than they had realized. She looked forward to learning more about Mary and continuing to share good nights together. Zelda suddenly stopped in her tracks as she saw a tall dark stature blocking her trail. Her senses heightened as she could feel magic buzzing off the unknown being. Any drowsiness that she had felt from the wine had completely worn off, alarm bells starting to ring in her head.

"Who goes there?" Zelda called out, as if she would get an answer. She tensed as the figure seemed to be drawing in closer. She started slowly backing up raising her hand to jinx whatever was coming at her, but it was as if her magic had been drained from her body.
The figure stepped into the moonlight revealing its guise, curing all Zelda's quandaries.

"Lilith was given strict rules" Mazikeen, Lucifers right hand woman growled darkly, her bright red eyes burning into Zelda's. "She was to tell no one of his plan, witch or not" she finished, a devilish smirk playing on her lips; a smirk that unsettled Zelda more than the woman's demon like appearance.
"and so, I have strict orders...to kill whomever that useless cow lets in on the dark lords plan."

Zelda's breath was cut off as the woman teleported right in front of her, their faces only inches apart. The woman looked as if half of her face had been held above fire,
her skin seared off down to the bone leaving her rather scary looking.
"Show no mercy he says..." She whispered with a chuckle and with one swift movement lodged a blade right between Zelda's breast's. A puncture so blunt and forceful that Zelda felt as her rib caged collapsed where she had been impaled.

There was a loud crack of lightening as the sky lit up with what seemed to be millions of
fireworks; Mary appeared out of thin air behind Mazikeen and let out an unearthly thunderous roar. Her fists were glowing bright red, eyes illuminated a yellowish colour; in a blink of an eye she had charged Mazikeen, sinking her fist deep into the hideous woman's chest. With a swift tug, Mary had pulled Mazikeen's black heart from her chest, crushing it in her fist. The woman stared at Mary with wide eyes and let out a final sigh before falling to the cold forest floor; limp, lifeless, dead.

Zelda felt the warmth of her blood spreading as it began seeping from the stab wound in her chest. As it began to drip down her arms pooling in her hands, she shakily lowered her gaze to peer at the blade lodged in her chest. She quickly looked back up, in search of Mary.

"Help me" she croaked hoarsely as her consciousness began to fade. She slowly watched as the trees around her began to fall horizontally, before her body collided with the forest floor. Zelda closed her eyes and felt Mary grip onto her hand; Zelda never imagined that bleeding out would feel peaceful, but in that moment, it oddly was. Suddenly, everything went black.
