You just hugged him for a while until he pulled away and said, "You know I really don't want you to go today but you need to." You wiped your tears and quietly said, "I know." He nodded and then stood up and grabbed you a banana off the cabinet, "Here, you need to eat something." You began to eat the banana slowly. After you finished a few bites and handed him the rest he shook his head and said, "No, you need to eat more." You complained, "I'm not hungry." He raised his eyebrows and said, "y/n, you need to eat." He then handed you a bottle of water and said, "You need to drink a lot too." You just nodded and finished drinking and eating. Once you were done he helped you over to the couch where he handed you a book to read, "Here, I know you like this one." He was right, it was your favorite book. You opened it and began to read. He sat right next to you with his own book and put his arm around your shoulder. For about 4 hours, you just read a compilation of your favorite books. -- It was now three hours until you had to leave to go to the mental hospital, every second, you were getting more nervous. While you were reading, you checked the time constantly, your leg began to bounce more and you began to bite your nails. Your dad noticed your behaviour and asked, "y/n, are you okay?" You look up startled, "What- no yeah, I'm fine." He put his book down and pulled yours down. He then looked in your eyes and saw your nervousness, he said, "y/n, no you're not. I know you're scared to go, but, if you do really good, you might only have to stay a week. Okay?" You tried to fake a smile, "Okay." Only tears came out though, he then wrapped his arms around you mumbled, "I don't want to go." He whispered, "I know sweetie, but I really think you will get better, I know you will baby." Tired from that night, you fell asleep in his arms. His steady heartbeat put you to sleep. --You woke up to your dad slightly shaking you and whispering, "y/n, you need to get up. We are leaving in about 15 minutes." You slowly got up, no, no, no, the moment you dreaded. You stood up and began to walk up to your room, your dad followed you. You rolled your eyes and said, "I'm fine, I'm just going to freshen up." Your dad, still following you into your room said, "y/n, you know I can't leave-" You sighed, "I know." You began to brush your teeth and brush your hair, you knew the terms of the hospital so you didn't pack anything. Once you were done, you walked out of your room and your dad followed you. Once you both got downstairs, you said, "I'll just leave my phone here." He nodded and you both went out to his car. Once he started the engine and pulled out of the driveway, you stared out the window to hide your tears. He looked at you sympathetically and put his hand on your shoulder, "y/n, it will be alright." You just sighed and didn't say anything. Once you got there, you both walked to the front desk. He began talking with one of the nurses, then, one of them got up and said, "y/n Reid, follow me." Tears began to form in your eyes(you felt like you were being a big baby about this, I mean, you kinda were, but after your mom died, you never left your dad's side.), you gave your dad a pleading look. He knew if he looked you in the eyes, he would fall into your trap and not make you go, so he hugged you instead. He whispered, "I love you y/n, I'll see you in a couple of days." With that, he pushed you to follow the nurse down a long hallway into an office labeled 'Dr. Halstead - Pediatric Psychiatrist.'" The nurse opened the door and you saw Dr. Halstead. He was a nice looking man, mid-30's, about 5'10." He stood up from his desk and held out his hand to shake yours, you put your hands up and said, "Sorry, I have kinda a germ thing." He nodded and sat back down, you sat in the chair in front of his desk. (your dad had already talked to him about everything that happened.) He started off by saying, "You know why you're here right?" You nodded and said sarcastically, "I am another depressed and anxiety ridden teen who has PTSD." He gave you a confused look, "Well- I, you do have depression, anxiety, and PTSD, but your chart says you're suicidal." You nodded, "Well, I see my dad has told you all the details, especially about last night." He nods and says, "Well, yes, but I would like to hear it from your perspective." You took a breath and started, "Well, around 11PM I realized I really didn't want to come today and I had one last chance to do it. So, while my dad was asleep, I downed about 27 antidepressants-" He interrupted you, "You're saying about 27, or exactly 27?" You gave him a serious look, "Well I don't know, I mean I was already down 20 do you think I would be able to count prop- what are you writing on my chart?" He began to write something down and looked up, he answered, "Continue." You continued, "Well, after 27, I just laid down on my bed until I felt at peace. Then, my dad came into the room and made me throw them up." He knew he wouldn't get much out of you right now so he just said, "Okay, we will come back to that-" You then got closer to his desk and whispered, "Can you just tell me the fastest way to get out of here. Really, I don't need all of this." He sighed and said, "y/n, believe it or not, you really do need so called, 'all of this.'" You just sat back in your chair until he said, "Well, I will have a nurse take you to your room, we will talk more later." The nurse took you to your room and made you put on a paper gown and do all the mental hospital shit. Once you were done, you just sat on your bed, the nurse said, "I will have someone bring you lunch in a bit." You nodded and just laid on your back, staring at the ceiling. A few minutes later, a nurse came in with a sandwich and said, "I didn't want you to have to eat in the cafeteria right now, but you will have to tonight." You nodded and she walked out. You weren't feeling very hungry, so you just set it aside and laid back down again. In less than 2 minutes, Dr. Halstead walked in. He looked at your food and asked, "Aren't you going to eat that?" You sat up and said, "No." He pulled up a chair next to your bed and said, "You need to." You took one bite to satisfy him and then he said, "I need to put an IV on you just to make sure you clean out your system after last night." You held out your arm, that is when he saw all the scars. As he put the IV in, he asked, "How long has that been going on?" You reply, "About 6 months." He nodded and then stood up to walk out, "Eat that sandwich." You nod your head and eat one more bite. Then, you went back to lay on your back, but you were greeted by another nurse. Jeeze, do I ever get a break. You sat back up and looked at the nurse, he came in with water and a few pills. He handed you them and you took them, taking note of what type they were. Once you were done he walked out and you fell asleep. About three hours later, you were awakened to a nurse saying, "y/n Reid, you have a session with Dr. Halstead." You slowly got up from your bed and followed her down the hallway to his office. (I'm kinda lazy rn so just skip till the end of the session. He asked you normal questions regarding mental health and stuff.) He finishes off by saying, "Okay, that was a good session for tonight, I will walk you back to your room for bed." You looked at the clock in his room, 8:00PM? "I can't go to sleep right now." He gave you a suspicious look, "You will." He then grabbed your arm aggressively and walked you down the hallway to your room. What was he doing? Your dad told you to always stay calm in these situations so you stayed calm. When you got to your room, he shut the door and reached into his pocket. He handed you a few pills and said, "Take these, they didn't add them to your medication from earlier." You took a look at them, dilaudid. You knew they were addicting and you knew they were only used for extreme pain. The amount he was handing you right now would be almost deadly. Why was he giving me dilaudid if I wasn't in pain? You looked up at him confused, "Why are you giving me that?" He sat in front of the bed you were sitting on and said, "It is just a mild antidepressant, I just forgot to add it to your-" Your voice began to get louder, "No, no, that is dilaudid. That- that amount right there could-" Suddenly, pinned you down to the bed, "Take it, now!" You tried to scream but he had his hands around your throat. He whispered in your ear, "Shut up." You struggled a bit more before he reached his hand in his pocket and found a syringe. He then let go of you but as you tried to get up, he stabbed the syringe full of sedation and something else into your neck. You fell back onto the bed, drowsy. Everything around you got fuzzy, then you saw Dr. Halstead standing over you. He whispered, "If you tell anyone..." You couldn't hear anything else after that, just him walking out the door, leaving you drugged and alone.
